MTV star Catelynn Lowell found a beautiful way to honor the babies she lost to miscarriage. The Teen Mom: OG star recently revealed her new ink. “Thanks so much […] for this very special art,” she captioned an image of the tattoo in an Instagram post. She also tagged the tattoo artist Lance Kellar. The minimalistic tattoo is a simple outline of an angel. Many of the comments celebrated the meaningful work, Us Weekly reports.
In a previous post, the star shared an image of the tattoo designed she wanted to get, saying she was doing it in honor of her pregnancy losses. “Getting this little cutie on me today for our two angels in heaven,” she wrote.
The reality star revealed earlier this week that she suffered a miscarriage on Thanksgiving Day in November. She had learned she was expecting again only days prior to losing the pregnancy. On December 8th, she posted a series of photos featuring her pregnancy test in which she opened up about her loss. She described herself as “heartbroken” but explained she wanted to be candid about her family’s loss to provide support to others.
“I am sharing this to let you know you are not alone. We are all in this together and everyone experiences pain, loss, and the recovery from it,” she wrote.
Catelynn shares two daughters with her husband Tyler Baltierra. They welcomed their daughter Novalee Reign in 2015, while her younger sister Vaeda Luma was born in 2019. The pair were married in 2015 after nearly a decade together. Catelynn and Tyler also share an older daughter as well, Carly, who was born in 2009. The couple was still in high school at the time. Their 16 and Pregnant episode documented putting their firstborn up for adoption. Their relationship with Carly’s adoptive parents has since been explored in various seasons of Teen Mom: OG.
Unfortunately, this wasn’t the first miscarriage Catelynn experience. Three years after welcoming Nova, the celebrity became pregnant again. However, she ended up losing her pregnancy in 2018. Subsequently, the young mother checked herself into a treatment center for mental health. This was her third time entering treatment. The star says she’s been coping better with her pregnancy loss the second time around.
Catelynn and Tyler have expressed their desire to have more children in the future. Tyler, specifically, has said that he hopes to have a boy as their next child. During the gender reveal for Vaeda, which aired on the MTV reality show, Tyler was visibly upset to learn they weren’t having a son. But given the pair’s comments, more babies definitely seem on their agenda. For instance, in February, Catelynn admitted she couldn’t wait to have more.
“My baby fever is inane,” she said that the time. “We’re not done yet. We just love being parents too much.” Tyler again reiterated his desire for a son, saying “I want a boy. I want a boy so bad.”
