Being a mom is a full-time job that no one ever said would be easy. Caring for our children and raising them to be good little people are on top of a mom’s priority list, so it’s extra frustrating when others feel the need to offer their unsolicited opinions on how we could be doing better as parents. Even though mothers give it their all, it seems like being critiqued is almost unavoidable after you have a baby. Sure, we sometimes have no idea what we’re doing but we try our best to learn along the way while tending to our children’s every need. It’s fine to get some helpful advice from time to time, but the last thing mothers (especially first-time moms) need is to be harshly judged on their ability to parent.

While most moms feel like they are often subject to the unwelcome opinion of others, the same can be said for celebrity parents as well. Celebs are under a whole different level of pressure simply by being in the public eye, and nothing seems to be off-limits when it comes to being shamed over social media. For famous moms, even the tiniest things can be made into a big deal by those who are quick to judge them. How they choose to feed, hold and even show affection toward their offspring is all enough for the parenting police to come out in full effect. Here are just a few of the most ridiculous things celeb moms have been shamed for on social media.

10 10. Jana Kramer Was Forced To Defend Her Baby Food Choices

Proud mamas love to celebrate when their little ones reach new milestones. So, when Jana Kramer’s daughter, Jolie, was ready to make the switch from formula to baby food the star excitedly took to social media. Kramer snapshotted a picture of canned baby food along with the caption, “And it begins #babyfood”. While the former One Tree Hill actress was simply sharing the next level of her daughter’s development with her fans, she didn’t expect to be on the defense when it came to her food choices. Jana received one judgmental comment after another about her decision to buy jars of baby food rather than prepare her own at home. This whole thing was just mind-boggling! After all, being a mom is a full-time job and not everyone has the time to steam, puree, and prep baby food when the store-bought kind is just as good. The star shot back at naysayers by saying, “Dear Mommy Shamers, unless you are Jolie's doctor, her father, or her mom, do NOT tell me how to raise my child, or how to feed her."

9 9. Tori Spelling Got Shamed For Giving Her Kids Muffins

It’s incredibly common for celebrities with a large social media following to make sponsored posts in exchange for a nice paycheck. Tori Spelling recently took to Instagram to post a series of promotional photos featuring her children eating bite-sized muffins. The star shared the ad along with the caption, “This mom of five finds snack time a balancing act between pleasing my kiddos and feeling good as a parent about what I’m feeding them”. Seems innocent enough, right? Not quite. It didn’t take long for Tori’s social media post to create some muffin mayhem after mom-shamers lashed for opting to feed her kids sweet treats.

Critics argued that Spelling shouldn’t be giving her children muffins that are high in sugar and lack nutritional value. Just the thought of someone being ridiculed for giving their little ones a few mini-muffins sounds absurd, and even Tori’s husband, Dean McDermott, came to her defense. The actor stood by his wife, stating, “She posted about a snack, it’s a snack people. Haven’t we given our kids a snack before? Cakes, cookies whatever. It’s a snack. She’s a great mom. We’re great parents.” If this isn’t a ridiculous argument… we’re not sure what is.

8 8. Kristin Cavallari’s Boys Were Called ‘Too Skinny’ On Social Media

Kristin Cavallari understands that being a celebrity means she’s subject to scrutiny. As a mother of three, she made the decision to keep her kids out of the public eye and chooses not to post photos of their faces on social media. When the star posted a sweet photo from behind of her boys, Jaxon and Camden, having fun on the beach, mom-shamers were quick to call her parenting into question. Cavallari received some serious backlash as her children were labeled “too skinny” and it was enough for her to fire back. The reality star sarcastically quipped, “Yep, I starve my children. Just blocked the most people I’ve ever blocked in my entire life”. Cavallari later revealed, “I really don’t care. I know what I’m doing. My kids are happy and healthy and at the end of the day that’s all the matters.”

7 7. Hilary Duff Got Judged For Kissing Her Son At Disneyland

Just when you thought you’ve heard it all from online mommy-shamers, they go and outdo themselves. This time, it was Hilary Duff who took the brunt of the backlash for a picture she posted of herself and her son at Disneyland. The Younger star happily took to social media to share what was supposed to be a happy moment during a family vacation, but Duff didn’t realize how much negativity would arise from kissing her son on the lips in the photo.

6 6. Jessie James Decker Got Scolded Over Her Daughter’s Tan

Sometimes when you’re a mom it can feel like no matter hard you try to be perfect there’s always something that you’re not doing right. We’re pretty sure that even Jessie James Decker could relate after she was shamed for a picture she posted to social media. The singer shared an adorable snapshot of her daughter, Vivienne, after a day of family fun by the pool along with the caption “tan bunny”. The online parenting police didn’t waste any time bashing Decker for letting her daughter get a suntan. Decker was flooded with messages warning her of the dangers that the sun can have on her child’s skin. Of course, it’s important to load up on sunscreen when playing outside but is it really necessary to have a war of words in the comments section over it?

5 5. Kourtney Kardashian Got Blasted For Not Waxing Her Son’s Eyebrows

While Kourtney Kardashian has been called out for things she’s done in the past, this time it’s what she didn’t do that had social media in a frenzy. When the star posted a photo of her eight-year-old son, Mason, and his father, Scott Disick, she probably didn’t expect what was coming next. Mommy-shamers took it to the next level when they began pointing out her son’s full brows and told her she needs to fix them ASAP. With harsh comments like, “Yikes! Fix his eyebrows!,” and “All this money and yet all that brow”, Kourtney was relentlessly trolled over her son’s appearance.

4 4. Deena Cortese Got Shamed Over A Car Seat Photo

New mom Deena Cortese hadn’t even left the hospital before her parenting was already being called into question! The Jersey Shore star recently gave birth to her son, CJ, and couldn’t want to share pictures of her little man on social media. Cortese posted a series of photos featuring her bundle of joy but there was one shot in particular that had mommy-shamers coming out of the woodwork. Just before leaving the hospital, Deena shared a picture of her son bundled up in his car seat. Deena was then in the hot seat over her newborn’s outfit, which appeared to be a fleece coat. Comments began slamming the star for dressing her baby in a coat while strapped in his car seat, reminding Cortese of the dangers that winter outerwear can create when it comes to car seat safety. Deena responded to the backlash by stating, “It’s not a jacket…it’s a onesie and hospital approved it. We’re not perfect but we got this. Thank you for the concerns".

1 1. Julia Stiles Faced Flak Over Her Baby Carrier

Julia Stiles was just sharing a photo of herself and her newborn son, Strummer, when she was hit hard with comments from mommy shamers. According to critics, Stiles was incorrectly wearing her infant in a baby carrier. While the actress was accused of exhibiting “unsafe” parenting practices, she refused to let the unnecessary judgment get her down. Stiles started her response to the negativity by saying, “It was brought to my attention that in the previous photo I am not holding my baby correctly. Wow, I didn’t expect that. What was supposed to be a shout out of products I like suddenly becomes an invitation to comment on my baby, and my ability as a mother. That’s the internet for you”.
