2020 has been a very unique year with unexpected twists and turns at every corner. With COVID-19 sweeping the globe and many countries issuing lockdowns, people were expected to stay inside as much as possible in the first half of the year. Many people are choosing to take restrictions very seriously, and have limited almost all social activities. Though restrictions have lessened in some places, experts warn of an imminent second-wave, as case numbers soar in the United States and Europe.

While many couples have decided to put their baby-making on hold temporarily, others are continuing with their plans. This year, several celebrities have announced their pregnancies, and we expect more baby news before the year is over!

Here are the celebrities who've announced their pregnancies during lockdown.

Chrissy Teigen & John Legend

Chrissy Teigen and John Legend are the latest celebrity parents to announce baby news! Just yesterday, Chrissy uploaded an Instagram story that featured the pair's daughter, Luna, stroking her mother's belly and asking, "What's in there?" Chrissy answers, "Baby!" confirming the news.

The pair have always been vocal and open about their plans to grow their family, and their struggles with infertility. Luna was born after IVF treatment.

Rooney Mara & Joaquin Phoenix

Rooney Mara and Joaquin Phoenix's relationship has been going strong since they first started dating in 2016. The high-profile couple have managed to keep much of their relationship out of the spotlight, despite both being well known in Hollywood.

Though Joaquin got down on one knee to propose to Mara in 2019, the couple have spoken out about not being big fans of the instituition of marriage, so it's not clear whether they will actually wed. Despite this, the couple seems to be very committed to one another; they have been at each others' sides for many red-carpet events before COVID-19 forced us indoors.

Though the pair never publicly confirmed the pregnancy, Rooney has been spotted out and about sporting a pretty significant baby bump. Page Six first reported rumors of the pregnancy back in May, and The Sun published photos of the pair out in L.A. in June.

Ashlee Simpson & Evan Ross

Ashlee Simpson and her hubby Evan Ross have announced that they are expecting a baby boy in the fall. This will be the second child for the couple, who welcomed daughter, Jagger Snow, 5 years ago. Ashlee is also mom to son Bronx Mowgli, who she shares with ex-husband, Pete Wentz. The adorable family has been self-isolating for most of the year, to protect Ashlee from potentially being exposed to anyone who is sick with COVID-19. Evan Ross is the son of legendary singer, Diana Ross, and is also a musician.

Stassi Schroeder & Beau Clark

2020 has been bittersweet for Stassi Schroeder, who was fired from the cast of Vanderpump Rules earlier this year. The reality star was already struggling with the fact that her wedding to fiancé Beau Clark, planned to be celebrated this year in Italy, had to be rescheduled to next year due to COVID-19.

While the star has struggled with the repercussions of the firing, she seems to be keeping her head up, and looking forward to becoming a mom later this year. The pair confirmed on Instagram that they are expecting a daughter.

Adam Brody & Leighton Meester

The O.C. alum, Adam Brody, and Gossip Girl queen, Leighton Meester, made American teens swoon when they married in 2014. Their romance was the perfect union of two teen drama stars adored by American millennials. Their daughter, Arlo, was born in August 2015, and will become a big sister to a new baby sibling very, very soon.

While the couple is notoriously private on their social media accounts, photos published by The Daily Mail showed Leighton sporting a definite baby bump. We expect confirmation that the baby will be born any day now!

Katy Perry & Orlando Bloom

Perhaps the most anticipated baby arrival of 2020 is Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom's first child together, due any day now. The engaged couple were first linked together in 2016 but broke up briefly in 2017 from February to August, then were confirmed to be dating again. In February 2019, the couple announced their engagement. While their wedding plans changed due to a change in venue, the couple had more news in store! In March 2020, Katy announced that she was pregnant with their first child together.

Orlando Bloom is already dad to 9-year-old son Flynn, whom he shares with ex-wife, Miranda Kerr.

It's been a big year for Katy Perry, who is releasing her sixth studio album, Smile, on August 28th. The first single from the album, Daisies, has already become one of the summer's biggest hits. While her last studio album, Witness, released in 2017, didn't get rave reviews, Smile is expected to go large.
