There was a definite celebrity baby boom in the early 2000s that lasted the first decade, and the celebrities who had babies at that time are still on the rise. Some of them were singers and have now made careers out of other forms of celebrity. And some were actors who are still household names. But regardless of where they are now, these are the top 10 celebrities who had babies in the '00s.

10 Leslie Mann

Most fans of Leslie Mann’s work likely got their first look at her two daughters, Maude and Iris Apatow, in the 2007 comedy Knocked Up in which they played her daughters. And while Maude is the older of the two, Iris was born in 2002 to Mann and her husband, film director Judd Apatow. Since Iris’s birth, Mann has continued to steadily work in film. She was even nominated for a Broadcast Film Critics Association award for her role in This Is 40. Mann has had starring roles in the movies This Is 40 and The Comedian and will be in the Amazon series The Power next.

9 Melissa Joan Hart

Depending on when you grew up, chances are, Melissa Joan Hart was part of your childhood in some way. Maybe you were introduced to her on Clarissa Explains It All or you fell in love with her on Sabrina the Teenage Witch.

Since then, she starred in the ABC Family comedy series Melissa & Joey and even published a memoir in 2012 entitled Melissa Explains It All: Tales from My Abnormally Normal Life.

8 Christina Aguilera

Christina Aguilera is another pop star who became a parent in the '00s, but continued to work on her carer directly following the birth of her son in 2008. In fact, there has hardly been a lull in her career since then and continued to work on her music. She was also one of the hosts on The Voice for a few seasons, but lately, her heart is still with music, where she continues to thrive. She even released an original song for the 2019 animated Addams Family movie.

7 Sarah Michelle Gellar

Those who loved Sarah Michelle Gellar as the lead in the Buffy the Vampire Slayer TV series followed her career in the plethora of movies she appeared in during the late 90s and early 2000s. Gellar has continuously voiced characters in the adult stop motion animated series Robot Chicken over the years and will next appear in the 2020 miniseries Other People's Houses.

6 Ashlee Simpson

Ashlee Simpson and ex-husband Pete Wentz might be long over with, but she does have him to thank for her first son, who she gave birth to in 2008. Simpson was known at the time for a failed Saturday Night Live performance and a post-pop punk branding she was trying to introduce. Like her sister, Simpson delved into music for a little while, but these days, she’s busy making new music with husband Evan Ross and almost starred in an E! reality series with him, which was slated to be titled Ashlee + Evan.

5 Alanis Morissette

Although Alanis Morissette has three children with husband Mario "Souleye" Treadway, she gave birth to their first, Ever, in 2010. Since then, Morissette has opened up about her struggles with postpartum depression and has continued to make music, which she is probably best known for.

In fact, she recently announced a 25th anniversary tour of her 1995 album Jagged Little Pill. And she will release another album, Pretty Forks in the Road, in 2020, so you can't say she doesn't work hard to maintain her music career.

4 Jada Pinkett Smith

Jada Pinkett Smith and husband Will Smith have two doppelganger kids, Jaden and Willow, who was born in 2000. Both kids have become stars in their own right and Pinkett Smith recently saw a major resurgence in her film career. In the past few years, she had starring roles in the hit movies Bad Moms, Girls Trip, and Magic Mike XXL. Before that, she voiced characters in various Madagascar movies, so she has never really went away. Only these days, she can be seen and heard in both animated and love action films.

3 Katie Holmes

Although Katie Holmes is no longer married to Tom Cruise, the couple share a daughter, Suri Cruise, who Holmes gave birth to in 2006. She is still the spitting image of Holmes and the two appear to be close, even as Suri enters the teenage stage. Following her 2012 split from Tom, Holmes dated actor Jaime Foxx and has returned to both TV and film acting. Her most recent notable role was in the TV miniseries The Kennedys: After Camelot as Jackie Kennedy and she also has a recurring role on Showtime’s Ray Donovan in Season 3.

2 Jennifer Lopez

Jennifer Lopez gave birth to twins Max and Emme in 2008 with then-husband Marc Anthony. Although Lopez hasn't had any other children since the birth of her twins, she does essentially have a blended family with boyfriend Alex Rodriguez and his two children. Other than that, Lopez is still working in movies, including 2019’s Hustlers. She was also an American Idol judge for a time, so there is little she hasn't dipped her toes in since becoming a mom in the '00s.

1 Britney Spears

The early 2000s were a wild time for Britney Spears. She had a ton of ups and downs and there was a period when it seemed like she might come back from the brink of one of her meltdowns. Somewhere in there, however, she had her first son in 2005 and gradually, she rose back to the top, despite a few more setbacks. These days, Spears is a bona fide legend in music and she even has a Las Vegas residency show where fans can catch her live in concert throughout the year. She also continues to release her signature fragrances, so it’s safe to say Spears isn't going anywhere.

What these celebrities who had babies in the '00s prove is that even through the adventure of becoming parents, none of them have ever really slowed down in making their career aspirations a reality. Because despite their extreme wealth and celebrity, stars really are just like us.
