Celebrities have for long been glorified and are often used as a scale for perfection. Well, far from it, they are as human as you are and face more or less the same experiences you do. This includes pregnancy and parenting experiences.

Yes, there are celebrity moms who have given birth via C-section and some who have had miscarriages.

While some celebrities shy away from sharing their birthing experiences, there are others who do it with the aim of encouraging fans who might be going through the same. Here are 10 celebrity moms who’ve revealed they had C-sections!

11 Beyonce

Hard to believe that the queen of pop has had a C-section, right?

Well, in a Vogue interview, Beyoncé said that she had to have an emergency C-section when giving birth to the twins; Sir and Rumi.

This was due to complications that arose after she had been on bed rest for more than a month, coupled with toxemia.

The emergency C-section resulted in Bey and her babies spending some time in the neonatal ICU, an experience that she’d rather not remember. When sharing her story, Beyoncé also mentioned that C-sections can be life-changing, a concept that not many people understand.

9 Jennifer Lopez

This singer/actor, when heavily pregnant with twins, wanted to have her babies the natural way.

Before she gave birth, she decided to have a test drive by watching her sister do it, and this prompted her to change her mind. It was from this experience that she realized it’s okay not to go the route that many prefer. Seeing her sister have a natural birth was the wake-up call she needed and could also have led to her amazing quotes on parenting and love.

It was all good anyway because, in the end, her doctor recommended that she have a C-section.

8 Amber Rose

Yes, this incredibly beautiful blonde had a C-section.

Unlike Angelina Jolie’s case, Amber had an entirely different birthing process planned out. She wanted to deliver her baby via a water birth and had, in fact, spent most of her pregnancy preparing for it. Then comes the shocker: a last-minute realization that her baby was in a breech position.

No, she didn’t accept it gladly and was extremely terrified to have to deliver this way. It isn’t for the vain reasons you would expect though. Amber was scared because she hadn’t had surgery previously and this would be her first time.

7 Pink

If you’re looking for amazing pop music, you know Pink won’t disappoint. The same can’t be said of her expectations of giving birth to Willow.

Pink, with her husband Hart, had no intentions of delivering under medication. She was all for a natural delivery, so much so that after realizing her daughter was breech, she did all she could to change the child’s position.

Well, Willow had other plans and in the end, Pink had to have a C-section. Like the fierce diva she is, Pink wasn't the least bit fazed by the experience.

6 Serena Williams

This phenomenal tennis star was all for a natural delivery but her child Olympia had different plans.

Serena was in the hospital to deliver when complications arose during labor: a significant drop in the baby’s heartbeat. It was a surreal moment when the doctor broke the news to her and told her that she had to have a C-section.

Her troubles didn’t end there as she later had complications, among them being blood clots. Serena later opened up about her birthing experience and admitted it was traumatic, to say the least.

5 Gwen Stefani

This Hollaback Girl singer had little choice when it came to the birth of her first child. When she was pregnant with her then-husband, Gavin, it was discovered that her child was in a breech fetal position and she couldn’t deliver normally. A C-section was then recommended, an option that she gladly took.

When she became pregnant again later, she opted to deliver via C-sections. If anything, her smoking hot body tells no tale of her ever being under the knife. She’s still as flawless as ever!

Body goals, yes?

4 Jennifer Hudson

A diva with a personality that is as glorious as her vocals.

Jenifer Hudson gave birth through a C-section and she’s not ashamed nor embarrassed to talk about it. Why should she? There’s nothing wrong with delivering that way.

According to this singer, the experience wasn’t as terrible as she had anticipated and recovery wasn’t that bad either. In fact, most people told her to anticipate immense pain but it wasn’t such a painful experience. Yes, to her it was more of a sore feeling but not really painful.

Who wouldn’t want a pain threshold like that?

3 Angelina Jolie

Here’s to one amazing celebrity that finds no shame in talking about her C-section experiences: all three of them.

Before she delivered her first child, Shiloh, Jolie had an ultrasound that showed her child was in a breech position. When the baby is in this position, the only safe mode of delivery is a cesarean section, an option that Jolie gladly accepted.

In fact, Angelina found this process so fascinating that when she was ready to give birth again, this time twins, she opted to go under the knife! Talk about bravery!

She has since given parenting tips on raising teenagers.

2 Victoria Beckham

Here’s a heroine who wouldn’t give birth the natural way. Not once, not twice, but 4 times!

Yes, Victoria decided to have all her four children via a C-section. It is still unclear why this fashion designer would choose this mode of delivery but whatever the case, she still remains top of her game.

Here’s where the juice is; she once admitted to wanting a fifth child, with the only deterring factor being her scar. She wasn’t sure it could handle it!

1 Christina Aguilera

“I’m a genie in a bottle..” Can’t help but sing along, huh?

Christina had no intention of delivering her child naturally and not for medical reasons. This singer had heard horror stories of what goes on down there when one has a natural birth, including vaginal tears, and she wasn’t about to go through all that.

The C-section wasn’t exclusive to her first child either: she had both of her two children under the knife.
