More celebrity moms are openly talking about being asked how they were planning on losing the baby weight weeks after giving birth or why they would consider wearing a bikini at all that shows their c-section scar. Unfortunately, many women have felt pressure from others to “bounce back” into their pre-pregnancy jeans so soon after having their babies. It almost feels like a race, and if you don’t fit into them fast enough then you lose. The type of focus on a woman’s bodies is not healthy and in no way helpful during postpartum.

This is exactly why influential celebrity mothers have been speaking about positive body image during postpartum. They want women to know that their body, weight, or pant size is nobody’s business but their own. They also want women to know that they should not feel the need to shrink back down to the same size they were before they were pregnant. Women should be proud of what their bodies have accomplished, and they should express that by feeling confident in their bodies no matter what. Here are 10 examples of celebrity mothers promoting positive body images postpartum:

After surprising fans with the news of becoming pregnant again, Jade Roper Talbot has recently delivered a beautiful baby boy. She wrote, “No one prepared me for engorged breasts or the uterine cramping while breastfeeding or that I’d be matching my baby in diapers for weeks!” She does mention that since this is her third baby, she understands things a bit better than before, but that every postpartum experience is different.

Jamie has said that she does not want her daughter to hear her saying phrases such as “does this make me look fat?”. In a recent Instagram post she wrote, “Don’t let society make you feel bad for the extra weight, scars, saggy skin, stretch marks, or whatever supposed ‘flaw’ no matter if you are 9 min postpartum, 9 months, or 90 years postpartum!” In Jamie’s mind, she isn’t worried about her weight and neither should any woman.
