Over the past few decades, there have been several celebrity siblings that have gained notoriety for being twins! Identical and fraternal twins in Hollywood are quite uncommon, but the pairs that make a career for both of themselves in the industry are generally easily recognizable.

Some have shared roles, like Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, who rose to fame for their shared role as Michelle on popular sitcom Full House. Others have preferred to keep their celebrity pursuits separate, taking on separate roles to maintain a sense of independence.

10 Brittany And Cynthia Daniel

Brittany and Cynthia Daniel are identical twins hailing from Gainesville, Florida. In 1994, the sisters made their debut as Elizabeth and Jessica Wakefield, in the American teen drama Sweet Valley High. The show was based on the popular book series of the same name, written by Francine Pascal. Both the book series and the television series were very popular in the early 90's, and made these famous twins quite memorable.

9 James And Oliver Phelps

James and Oliver Phelps are twin brothers hailing from Birmingham, England. The duo landed the roles of Fred and George Weasley in Harry Potter And The Philosopher's Stone in the year 2000, and went on to appear in all of the subsequent films released by the Harry Potter franchise. They had no previous acting experience, and have since become millionaires from their acting careers.

8 Jon And Dan Heder

Jon Heder is best known for his iconic lead role in 2004's comedy, Napoleon Dynamite. The film became a cult classic, and led to Jon starring in several other roles, in films such as Just Like Heaven, and The Sasquatch Gang.

7 Joel And Benji Madden

Joel and Benji Madden are iconic tattooed identical twins from the early 2000's. Their rock-punk band, Good Charlotte, became a hit in 2002, when their second album, The Young And The Hopeless , sold over 5 million copies and was certified triple platinum. Both Madden brothers are married to high-profile women. Joel has been married to Nicole Richie since 2010, and Benji married Cameron Diaz in 2015.

6 Aaron And Angel Carter

Aaron and Angel Carter first hit the scene as they grew up in the shadow of their famous brother, Nick Carter, a founding member of the Backstreet Boys. The twins both went on to pursue careers in the spotlight; Aaron as a singer/rapper and Angel as a model and social media influencer. Aaron has struggled with drugs, alcohol, and mental health issues over the years.

5 The Winklevoss Twins

Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss are twin brothers who started their career as professional rowers, and later gained notoriety for their entrepreneurial pursuits, mainly within the social media world. They famously sued Facebook creator Mark Zuckerberg in 2004, claiming that he stole the twins' platform idea which later became the successful social media site.

4 Brie And Nikki Bella

Brie and Nikki Bella are identical twin sisters who rose to fame as a professional wrestling tag team in 2008. For almost a decade, the twins performed on the WWE, where they quickly gained a huge fan base.

The twins have both retired from wrestling as of 2018, and were inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame earlier this year. Regardless, their fame has not diminished since their departure.

3 Dylan And Cole Sprouse

Dylan and Cole Sprouse are twin brothers who started as child actors. They first appeared in Big Daddy, alongside Adam Sandler, in 1999. In 2008, they landed lead roles in Disney's The Suite Life of Zach & Cody, in which they played Zach and Cody. This role led to huge popularity, especially among tweens and young fans. Since 2018, Cole has played the role of Jughead in the popular Netflix show, Riverdale. 

2 Tia And Tamera Mowry

Tia and Tamera Mowry are twins sisters that were hugely popular in the mid to late 90's, when they starred in The WB network sitcom, Sister, Sister.

Running for a total of six seasons, the show was a fictional narrative, but the actresses kept their real names in the series. The sisters have also enjoyed success in the music industry. In the early 90's they formed a group called Voices.

In the history of celebrity twins, none have more notoriety than Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. Originally hitting the scene on popular television show Full House in 1987, the twins shared the role of Michelle Tanner, until the series came to an end in 1995. After the show wrapped up, they went on to become popular fashion designers, and have long been considered style icons in the high fashion world. Recently, Mary-Kate has been in the spotlight due to her complicated separation from husband Oliver Sarkozy. Mary-Kate has moved in with her twin sister in NYC while she undergoes the process of filing paperwork to finalize the divorce.
