"Baby Shark" is back again. Just when you thought the mildly irritating song couldn't get any weirder, Celine Dion has tackled the hit number in a way that's not all that bad. We're used to hearing the opening notes and quivering in fear as it begins to hack away at our sanity, but Dion makes it sort of...nice to hear. In fairness, if anyone could transform the catchy tune into something somewhat palatable, then it's going to be the French-Canadian songstress. So, how did it come about?
It's all thanks to everyone's favorite driver, James Corden, and his famous Carpool Karaoke. We've seen tons of A-listers hop into the passenger seat, but they pale in comparison to Dion's interstellar level of fame. And boy, Celine went in hard. Not one to be upstaged, as soon as she got into the car, the 51-year-old diva started belting out lines from some of the world's greatest hits. The Brit decides to challenge the "My Heart Will Go On" hitmaker with making the world's silliest song a bit more dramatic.
Of course, Celine Dion hadn't heard of the YouTube sensation that is "Baby Shark," so the host did his duty and sang it for her. In less than two seconds, Celine was belting it out like Rose was throwing that giant jewel into the Atlantic ocean once more. Seriously, is there anything that this woman can't do?
James drove all the way to Las Vegas, where Dion lives, for this entertaining segment. She's been performing at Caeser's Palace in residency since 2014 and continues to be a huge attraction. The mother of two suffered a great loss in 2016 when her husband passed away from a cancer-related illness. Just two days later, she lost her brother to the same awful disease.
After taking some time off to grieve, Dion continued with her career, releasing her album "Encore un Soir" later that year. She continues to perform and write music, so who knows, maybe "Baby Shark" will make a surprise appearance on her next album! It certainly wouldn't be the strangest thing we've seen when it comes to the pink underwater family, would it?
