Over the course of the past few months, reports have surfaced that the relationship between former couple Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan has been anything but civil. From requesting mediation to iron out the terms of their child custody agreement to Dewan saying that she was blindsided by the announcement of Tatum's (now defunct) relationship with Jessie J, the two have had a hard time being on the same page about much these days. Times, however, may be changing.

InTouchWeekly.com reported on January 5, that Tatum, 39, is "happy for Jenna" and the fact that she has moved on to find love with Steve Kazee. The outlet further said that the Magic Mike star "loves that their daughter Everly is excited" about Dewan being pregnant and about becoming a big sister.

This news is in stark contrast to previous reports about the couple not being in agreement as to how the other has chosen to move on with their lives.

According to CelebrityInsider.org, Dewan, 39, had an especially tough time with the split from Tatum. The World Of Dance host penned a book entitled, Gracefully You: Finding Beauty And Balance In The Everyday, where she said going through the divorce was a "dark and difficult time" for her and learning that Tatum jumped into a relationship with Jessie J so quickly after their split did not help with the healing process. Calling Tatum a "heartless cheeseball who's rushed way too quickly into a romance with Jessie J," according to RadarOnline.com, paints a very clear picture as to how Dewan feels about her ex-husband.

Tatum, for his part, had some strong words about Dewan as well. Calling her, "a hypocrite and super-controlling and petty-minded," RadarOnline.com reported that the two were becoming "more hostile towards each other" with every interaction that they had.

Perhaps the New Year has brought about a change of heart for Tatum. With the Step It Up co-stars' daughter, Everly, being thrust into the middle of their deteriorating relationship, it is possible that Tatum recognized how toxic this was, and no longer wanted that negativity in his life. Maybe he truly does want what is best for Dewan and her baby-to-be. It seems unlikely to have such an about-face in such a short amount of time, but stranger things have happened.

Tatum and Dewan have an upcoming mediation scheduled for January 28 in which the status of where their relationship stands could be revealed. Here's to hoping for happier co-parenting skies are on the horizon for all involved.
