Chip and Joanna's show helps Hoda Kotb's one-month-old daughter fall asleep for a nap on Mother's Day.
Fixer Upper stars, Chip and Joanna Gaines, helped Hoda Kotb's one-month-old baby and they had no idea! They didn't physically step up and lend a hand, but they gave Kotb a special gift. Kotb, a co-host on the Today show, has a 2-year-old daughter named Haley and then she recently adopted a beautiful baby girl named Hope. She has been trying to adjust to two kids and learning how to take care of a toddler and a newborn.
Kotb called the show to tell all of her friends on the set about her wonderful Mother's Day. She got to spend the day with her partner, Joel Schiffman, and her two beautiful little girls. She was able to receive a handmade card from her daughter and everything was perfect. She even got a homecooked meal by Schiffman. All she needed now was to get her daughter to sleep.
She put her daughter down in a bassinet next to the television and says, "I know you're not supposed to." And the baby was not enjoying her time. She was extremely fussy and wasn't going to settle down. She then changed the channel to hear the sweet tones of Chip and Joanna from one of Kotb's favorite shows, Fixer Upper. Kotb said that the little girl went right to sleep!
When Chip and Joanna heard the news they laughed and said that they could never imagine falling asleep in the middle of a makeover, but that is exactly what little baby Hope did and she has no shame! All of the Fixer Upper fans joked that Hope definitely missed out on all of the proper shiplap detailing. Hope taking a nap on Mother's Day was such perfect part of Kotb's day!
Kotb doesn't exactly know what made her daughter fall asleep so easily to the voices of Chip and Joanna, but it is a trick that she will try again if she needs to. She said that one of the best parts of mothers day was being able to just have some peace and quiet while enjoying her older daughter. All mothers can relate to the fact that we love our babies but we also love when they take a nap.
