Country singer Chris Stapleton had a slew of new arrivals that will soon be in his household. A couple of them will likely go on his mantelpiece. And a couple more are destined for a crib.

The first part of the tally consisted of two trophies he won at the Academy of Country Music Awards show on Sunday. The kicker was when he was awarded the best album title, which was accepted by host Reba McEntire, who announced the winner unable to attend the ceremony, on account that his wife Morgane had just given birth to twins.

"We just found out that those little rascals came a little bit early," declared McEntire. "Hot off the press! Twin boys!"

Stapleton, who was up for eight nominees, also grabbed the male vocalist title that night. And to top it all off, the arrival of the twins also took place on the singer's 40th birthday.

The awards served as a nightcap to what's turned out to be a busy year for Stapleton, who in 2017 released two albums From A Room (Vol. 1 and Vol. 2), which yielded such hits as "Scarecrow In the Garden," "Them Stems," "Death Row" and "Without Your Love." He also celebrated the start of 2018 with three Grammy wins back in February in the country album, country song, and country solo performer categories.

Earlier in April, the latest Stapleton effort was released on Amazon Music that forced him to apply his country sensibilities to a pop song. He recorded a version of Elton John's "I Want Love," after the British music superstar made a personal request to him to cover it. The 2001 descant was to be part of a recent project recently undertaken by John and songwriting partner called Restoration, a collection of country interpretations of music created by the duo.

The arrival of the twins, whose names weren't known at this writing, doubles the offspring in the Stapleton household to four. Stapleton, who's been married to Morgane since 2007, might have to call off any touring for now, as his wife also doubles as a singing partner in concert.

Also enjoying fatherhood of late was Jason Aldean who took top honors in the entertainer of the year category at the ACM Awards. He recently celebrated the arrival of a baby boy, and as McEntire noted, also owns a bar in Nashville.

Retorted McEntire, "Either way, every night he’s going through a lot of bottles!”
