Ciara Talks Weight Loss After Pregnancy

A year after giving birth to her daughter, Ciara is opening up about how she lost 50lbs and is getting close to her pre-pregnancy weight. The entertainer is a mom to two. Sienna, her daughter with Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russel Wilson just turned one.  Her son Future, with ex-boyfriend Future, will be four next month.

While pregnant with Sienna, Ciara gained 65 lbs. She knew it would be hard work to lose the weight and then having two children added to the chaos increases the need for some real dedication. But she was determined. Ciara was busy with breastfeeding, taking her older son to school, and working out. Just like with regular moms, she had to find a balance that worked in her life.

In an interview with People Magazine, Ciara revealed her crazy schedule to get back in shape. "I would wake up, breastfeed, then get Future ready for school. Then after I take him to school, come back and work out. Then after I work out, breastfeed and go back and get Future from school. Come back and breastfeed, then go work out again”. That really does sound exhausting!

Hitting the gym twice a day is an intense routine for anyone, but Ciara would take it one step further. She would sometimes workout three times in one day! After spending the evening at home, and putting her kids to sleep, she would head out for another calorie-burning session.

Her effort and commitment has really paid off.  Losing 50 lbs is quite an accomplishment that anyone should be proud of and she did it all in just five months after giving birth!

While working out, Ciara discovered that she has developed diastasis recti. This is a post-partum condition that causes the large abdominal muscles to separate making it more difficult to achieve flat abs. Those with it need to work a little harder and may need to switch up their technique in order to get a pre-pregnancy belly.

No one can dispute that Ciara didn't work hard! She looks great! And we certainly wish we had her drive to get fit!
