The latest show to get a reboot is the Nickelodeon hit Clarissa Explains It All and it will star original cast member Melissa Joan Hart.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Viacom owned network is in very early talks to bring the show back and it appears everyone involved wants to make it happen. In the reboot, Hart would reprise her role as Clarissa Darling only this time around she would play the mom. She would also be an executive producer on the show through her production company Hartbreak Films. Original show creator Mitchell Kriegman is reportedly being wooed to write and produce the reboot.

Nickelodeon has not commented on the Clarissa Explains All reboot. However, sources claim the show is in the early development and an announcement will be made as soon as all the details are complete. Hart has yet to speak out on the new project as well, but no doubt will use social media when she has something to share. While she has said nothing about a reboot in the works, the actress has expressed in the past she would be on board to revisit the character.

"I think Clarissa ended on a note that could be explored again, because it didn't really have an ending, it sort of ended," she has said.

The original show ran for five seasons, 1991-1994. Hart played a teenage Clarissa who spoke directly to the audience as she dealt with problems including school. It was uncommon then for a character to break the fourth wall.

Kriegman revisited the characters in a new novel in 2015 "Things I Can't Explain". Fans were introduced to Clarissa in her twenties as she navigated life as an adult. Perhaps parts of that book would be incorporated into the rebooted series.

Nickelodeon fans get read! It looks like a Clarissa Explains It All reboot will happen. It may be in the early stages, but with Hart on board to star and produce the outcomes look very promising. Now all fans have to do is wait for the official word from the network.
