YouTuber Colleen Ballinger and Erik Stocklin are expecting a second child together – and it’s going to be a rainbow baby!

Colleen is known for her online persona Miranda Sings and features over 8.5 million subscribers on her self-titled channel. On May 17th, the Internet star shared a video titled “I’M PREGNANT!” In the 13-minute video, Colleen and her husband sit down to reveal the news that baby no. 2 is on the way. The couple also explained that their new addition will be a rainbow baby, as Colleen suffered a miscarriage at the beginning of the year.

Colleen added that their family is “so excited” and that they were “trying and hoping for this.” At the same time, however, the influencer admitted the news may take some of her followers by surprise, given that she’s been vocal on her channel about not wanting to be pregnant again, PEOPLE Magazine notes. However, Colleen explained that her miscarriage changed her mind.

When she became pregnant at the beginning of the year, she and her husband weren’t trying to conceive, Colleen explained. But when she eventually lost the pregnancy, it made her realize she did want to expand her family further. She described the loss as “devastating,” though it made her and Erik get on the same page about trying for a second child.

Though Colleen says they began trying to get pregnant soon after the miscarriage, it didn’t happen right away. Rather, the YouTube sensation said she took “a million pregnancy tests” over the last few months. She felt “shattered” each time it would come back negative. Eventually, however, on April 16th, Colleen discovered she was pregnant again.

Pregnancy is rougher the second time around, the expectant mother explained, noting that it’s been “much worse.” She’s been suffering through a lot of morning sickness, which Colleen says is interfering with her filming schedule. In addition, she’s been having “food aversions, horrible nightmares, and pelvic girdle pain.” This isn’t abnormal, however, as What to Expect notes that every pregnancy is different. While some women find their second time is easier because they’re more attuned to early pregnancy symptoms, it’s not the case with everyone.

Colleen originally met her husband when he starred as her love interested in her the original Netflix series Haters Back Off in 2016. They confirmed their romance in early 2018 before tying the knot that year. Their first child, son Flynn, was born in December 2018.
