This Couple Did An ‘Undead’ Maternity Shoot & It’s Perfect For Halloween

Trigger warning: gory images

One Florida-based couple and their photographer pal came up with a spooky and unique photo concept in order to get ready to welcome the couple's baby "ghoul" just in time for the baby's pre-Halloween due date.

Photographer Samantha Martin of SBS Photography happens to be the best friend of the mom-to-be, Ashley Olson, the star of the photoshoot so this had to be extra special. According to The Stir.CafeMom, Martin came up with the idea and once Olson (who was officially due on October 13) approved, the two friends got right to work.

Having a baby due in October can be odd for those who aren't fans of Halloween but for those who love the holiday, it's game on, baby! Martin told CafeMom that Olson said she "loved the idea." Martin picked her dress from Amazon and Olson chose her own crown. The mom-to-be did her own mouth artwork while the photographer did the dad-t0-be's claw effects.

Martin said that she appreciated the opportunity to take new chances with her craft and be edgier with photography, especially with her friend's special photoshoot.

The photos were posted onto Martin's photography Facebook feed where the reviews have been mostly positive but mixed as well. Some don't seem to know what to make of the photos while others are in awe of the beauty of the photography and wished they had the idea first.

"I have also seen some negative comments, unfortunately," Martin said. "I knew there would be some, but I guess you either love it or hate it, and the majority loves it."

According to the Facebook feed, it seems that Olson especially loves the photo where her husband is standing behind her in the fog.

If Olson has had her October baby "ghoul," we wish her little family all of the best!

What do you think of this spooky maternity photoshoot? Your cup of tea or not so much? We agree with Martin that this is the sort of thing that people will either like or not. We'd love to hear your thoughts down in the comments!
