Courteney Cox has been a television staple since playing neurotic Monica Gellar in Friends, cementing her celeb status way back in the '90s. The actress opened up the conversation on fertility alongside co-star Matthew Perry as the on-screen couple struggled to conceive, and now she's sat down with People to dish the dirt on real-life parenting. The 53-year-old actress shares daughter Coco with her ex-husband David Arquette.

Talking to the magazine for The Beautiful Issue, both Cox and 13-year-old Coco opened up about their mother-daughter dynamic. As she grew up herself, Courteney wanted to tell her mother everything, so raising a daughter that "doesn't want to tell me anything," has been challenging. She goes on to say that while Coco might not like to open up to her about the details of her life, the pair are very close. "We love each other. We laugh a lot, for sure."

Touchingly, Coco agrees. "I love you, but of course we're going to get in fights. But we're very close. Very close. I love you a lot." Cox and Arquette married in 1999, welcoming Coco in 2004 before parting ways in 2010. Despite their separation, the Scream actress emphasizes that they continue to co-parent, believing that the key to raising their daughter is supporting each other, as well as Coco. Like most of us raising teenagers, Cox goes on to explain that getting her teenager to come out of her room at mealtimes can be difficult, something she blames it on her decision to buy Coco a big bed.

Courteney has dated some big names in the past, before finding love with Snow Patrol's Johnny MacDaid in 2013. In June of 2014 the pair announced their engagement, but they have yet to wed. We can't wait for that ceremony - can anyone say Friends reunion? Jennifer Aniston is godmother to Coco, after all. We're sure the wedding will be amazing too, obvs. But Friends reunion. Make it happen, Court!
