Like most parents, a dad was tired of not having a clean space to change his baby's diapers while out running errands. As such, he designed a trunk diaper-changing hack to fix that problem and it is nothing short of pure genius!
A mom who goes by @m_ekg posted a video to TikTok that explains how she and her husband became tired of trying to locate bathrooms that had clean changing tables or in some instances, changing tables at all in them while out in public. Getting tired of having to be on the lookout for a changing table the couple instead decided that their car was a better spot to change their daughter's diapers in. But not in the way that most people would expect.
Most people who change their infant's diaper in the car generally change the diaper in the front seat because the back seat has a car seat in it and other miscellaneous baby items that make it uncomfortable to change a diaper. Other people still, according to Morgan Manages Mommyhood, choose to use the floorboard if there is enough room. For @m_ekg the trunk is the location of choice for a diaper change. And as her TikTok video shows, it is the perfect locale for an easy diaper change.
As the video shows, the mom's husband has developed a diaper changing station on the floor of the trunk of the car. By doing this, not only is no space lost in the trunk, according to Yahoo! Life, but the baby has a comfortable space where she can stretch out and not be cramped like she would be in other potential spots for changing in the car.
The trunk changing station is complete with a bassinet and a space to store diapers and wipes so that they do not need to be carried around by mom and dad while out and about. Better still, the space doubles as a feeding station for the little one.
With close to 420,000 views, the diaper changing hack has gone viral since it was first posted back in October 2020. And those who have watched it cannot believe how they have been doing anything but changing their babies' diapers in the car this way since watching how simple this diaper changing hack was to set up.
Remarks ranging from, "This is a game-changer" to "Why didn't I think of this before?" are sprinkled throughout the numerous comments made by other TikTok users.
As a result, do not be surprised if it becomes commonplace to see babies getting changed in the trunk of their car in comfortable bassinets. Not only is it more convenient for parents to change their little ones, but it is also more comfortable, (not to mention clean) for the baby as well.
