We can only imagine how mind-blowing it must be for celebrity children to realize just how famous their parents are. Dax Shepherd, who shares two daughters with his wife Kristen Bell, recently opened up about how hilarious it was trying to explain the concept to his girls.

The actor recently made an appearance on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert in which he opened up about his personal life with Bell. Even though he and his wife have taken their daughters- 6-year old Delta and 4-year old Lincoln- to set various times and they know their mama played Princess Anna in Frozen, it took the girls a while to piece the clues together and realize their parents are celebrities.

He explained that their eldest daughter recently questioned why so many people listen to his podcast “Armchair Expert.” When he replied saying it was because he’s famous, Delta still didn’t quite understand. “You’re famous?! Does mom know?” Shepherd said his daughter replied. When he then tried to explain that Bell is even more well-known, the 6-year old said in disbelief, “Mom’s famous, too?!”

By the sounds of it, the little one has begun bragging to her peers about just how cool her parents are. “She understands how we’re making money but this word ‘famous’ was its own thing,” Shepherd continued. “All of a sudden at kindergarten we’re Taylor Swift or Pink or something.”

It sounds like Lincoln and Delta inherited the funny gene from their famous parents. Bell once opened up about how every day is a new experience in their household… and how there’s always something new to laugh about!

“Every day is something comical,” the actress once explained. “Every day when you’re raising kids, you feel like you could cry or crack up and just scream ‘This is ridiculous!’ because there’s so much nonsense, whether it’s what they’re saying to you or the fact that there’s avocado or poop on every surface.”

Shepherd and Bell have been together since 2007. Though they got engaged in 2010, the couple didn’t seal the deal until 2013, as they made a very public pointing of waiting until gay marriage was legalized in the state of California. Daughter Delta was born in 2013, while their second girl, Lincoln, was born at the end of 2014 in December.
