Tom Daley is diving into parenthood with husband and film director Dustin Lance Black.

The Olympic medalist and filmmaker took to Instagram on February 14, 2018 to announce the exciting news. The couple shared a heart-warming photo of themselves holding an ultrasound. Dustin shared a similar photo with the caption: “A very happy #ValentinesDay from ours to yours.”

A spokesman for the 23-year-old diver shared that: “Tom and Dustin are thrilled to share that they are expecting their first child in 2018.” The two have spoken openly about wanting a child for some time now, saying they would want to give their future son or daughter as happy a childhood as they both enjoyed.

Although the couple has not confirmed whether they are having a child through surrogacy, the ultrasound suggests that the two are going that route instead of adopting. As for who the surrogate mother may be, this information has not yet been released.

According to DailyMail, the ultrasound suggests that the picture was taken near the 20 week mark, meaning the two should expect to become fathers at the beginning of the summer.

Tom Daley revealed that he and husband Dustin Lance would, “definitely want a family in the future – who knows when?” Well, now they know!

The couple also shared a statement about how lucky they are to both have extremely supportive families during this exciting time. Tom and Dustin Lance got engaged in October of 2015. They tied the knot in May of 2017 in a lavish wedding ceremony at Bovey Castle, near Plymouth, where Daley is from.

Since getting married, Dustin Lance Black has moved to London to live full time with husband Tom. They now own a home together.

The lucky couple has yet to release further details regarding the pregnancy, such as the baby’s gender or any potential names. However, we’ll certainly be keeping an eye and ear out for more news regarding the fathers-to-be. We wish Tom and Dustin Lance nothing but the best during this exciting and pivotal life moment.
