Kaavia Wade was one of the biggest stars at the 2019 Kids Choice Awards as the baby walked the red carpet with her parents Gabrielle Union and Dwayne Wade.
The toddler isn’t even 1-years old and she’s already making red carpet appearances, much to the delight of fans everywhere. Gabrielle was fashionable as always in a green and brown dress, while her husband Dwayne was dapper in a patterned blazer and white t-shirt. Their daughter looked extra adorable dressed in strappy sandals and a white dress.
Dwayne showed off via Instagram before the event that the baby was going to be joining her parents for the night out. During video for his story, the athlete showed himself and Kaavia picking out her outfit.
Although Kaavia walked the red carpet like a pro, it turns out her famous parents had to go to great lengths to get her to go along with things. In fact, they may have had to do a bit of bribing.
“We gave her a stern talking to in the car,” Dwayne told cameras as the July 11th event, Us Weekly reports. His wife then chimed in, saying, “[We] bribed [Kaavia] with puffs.” Dwayne then added, “She loves the puffs so we gave them to her right before she got out of the car.”
The parents then went on to discuss their daughter’s budding personality- and it totally sounds like a career in stardom could be in her future. “[She] looks like me, acts like [Gabrielle]. She has a whole personality,” Dwayne explained.
“She’s very particular about everything just like her mother, very particular, but I love it because she lets you know who she is and what she wants, what she don’t want,” he continued. “It makes it easier for me to be like, ‘Oh, you don’t want that? Cool.’”
It turns out this also isn’t Kaavia’ first time on the red carpet. Dwayne and Gabrielle first debuted their little one in May at the launch of Kaavia James by Gabrielle Union capsule collection with New York & Company. Gabrielle helped design the launch, she was inspired by her then 5-month old.
Dwayne and Gabrielle married in 2014 after five years of dating. Gabrielle, who is a step-mom to her husband’s three older children, was very candid about her fertility struggles leading up until the birth of their daughter, including her miscarriages. They eventually welcomed Kaavia in 2018 with the help of a surrogate.
