The women of The Today Show keep making headlines in the news lately. Before Thanksgiving, Savannah Guthrie suffered an eye injury while playing with her son. During the holiday, Hoda Kotb’s adopted daughter crawled for the first time. Now just this week, meteorologist Dylan Dreyer has shared her feelings regarding a miscarriage before her current pregnancy.

Dreyer announced her pregnancy back in July and is due in January of 2020. She admitted to People that this pregnancy “has been so much harder” after having a miscarriage earlier in the year. Dreyer and husband Brian Fichera were looking at all the options in order to get pregnant.

“We weren’t sure we were going to get pregnant or what sort of IVF treatments we’d have to go through to be able to have this baby,” she explained.

Fortunately, while the couple was preparing to undergo treatments, they found out they were pregnant. She continued on to say that she's thankful for “God putting [them] in this situation and giving [them] this opportunity and not having to struggle any longer than [they] did.”

On her Instagram, Dreyer shared photos from a surprise baby shower thrown by her coworkers of The Today Show. In one of her posts she wrote, “Every detail was so darn special, I just had to share!!”

She shared pictures of the crew huddled together showing off Dreyer’s baby bump, sports-themed cake pops, custom-designed wrapped chocolate bars, and a cake that looks like a golf course with a “2” pendant flag. The “2” is for this baby being Dreyer’s second son. It definitely was a special surprise!

Dreyer commented that she's more worried about her first son, three-year-old Calvin then her baby at the moment. She's worried about Calvin’s feelings since he has been an only child for three years, so a new baby brother could throw him for a loop. To keep Calvin excited about the baby, Dreyer said that they repainted his room and turned it into a “big boy room”. She also said that she had a treasure box made with a countdown to the baby's due date. Every day, Calvin can open the box and find a gift from his little brother. Dreyer said that Calvin has hugged her belly and said thank you to his little brother for the presents.

Although she has gone through a difficult time this past winter, the upcoming new year will bring such happiness to Dreyer’s family. The country will be waiting and watching for the arrival of her sweet baby!
