There isn’t anything much better in life than a surprise baby shower! Dylan Dreyer, meteorologist and Third-Hour cohost on The Today Show thought she was going to a promotional photoshoot, but when she walked into the room she found all her coworkers and her husband surrounded by sports theme baby shower decorations!
Dreyer told People magazine that she and her husband are “not shy about how much they love golf”. With that in mind, her coworkers decided to honour her with a baby shower that included a golf course cake, sports-themed cake pops, custom wrapped chocolate bars, and sports sectioned themed advice cards. There was even a cocktail drink named “Hole in One” to compliment the party. Dreyer shared pictures to her Instagram of the party and wrote, “I am so blessed and lucky to work with people I love!”
Dreyer said “it was shocking” once she realized the party was for her. She is due to have her second boy in January 2020. Just a few weeks ago, she explained how she and husband Brian Fichera were contemplating going through fertility treatments earlier this year when they found out they conceived naturally. They were thinking about fertility treatments because the couple had a miscarriage last winter.
Dreyer said that going through a miscarriage has made this pregnancy “so much harder” because they were unsure of how they were going to get pregnant. Fortunately, they did not have a long fight with fertility treatments and are looking forward to the birth of their son.
The couple is so excited to meet their new little man, and for Calvin, their three-year-old son, to have a brother. Dreyer told reporters that both she and her husband have great relationships with their brothers. She then went on to say, “It makes sense that I would have two boys and Calvin would have a little brother, and they get to share a room and grow up together and just have adventures together”.
Just the other day, Dreyer again posted to Instagram to celebrate Calvin’s birthday. Everyone is so excited for this family and can’t wait to meet their baby!
