Ellie Kemper recently became a mom of two and revealed that she has an unusual, and hilarious, way of making her older son still feel special.

The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt star fake mocks her newborn to make her 3-year-old son James still feel loved and special after the addition of his baby brother. Kemper jokingly calls seven-week-old son Matthew "dumb" and points out he can't do anything at all, especially compared to James. It's all done facetiously and with a lot of love. In Kemper's defense, babies that age really can't do anything.

Yet Kemoer admits she may be going to far: “I am going overboard. I am, like, so worried about James feeling left out that I find myself, like, insulting the baby to, like, win James’ approval."

When becoming a second-time mom, you never know what to expect. There is a real fear about making sure your firstborn still feel secure and included during the adjustment period of bringing home a newborn. She was given some advice about having a second child that she took to heart. "Everyone warned me, of course. Like, ‘You need to shower the older one with, like, attention and love. You don’t want them to feel left out." So like any good mom, she weighed the pros and the cons. When the time came she chose a unique approach, but it works

During her appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live Kemper admitted, “James knows what I’m saying. And I’m a people pleaser, so I’m like, ‘Matthew will never remember that I said this, but James will." That seems like good enough reasoning for us. Kemper finished her segment calling out to little Matthew, "I love you, Matthew. But you’re a little dumb.”

Kemper has kept us laughing since her days on The Office. Super successful Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt ended its run earlier this year on Netlfix and remains one of the funniest original sitcoms on the streaming platform. Also, you definitely know her voice from The Secret Life of Pets movies as Max's owner Katie.

She's been married to fellow comedian Michael Koman since 2012. They welcomed James in 2016 and Matthew in September. The new family of four seems to be still getting used to each other, but James and Matthew will be the best of friends in no time. You know, when Matthew gets less dumb and can do things like James.
