Teen Mom fans everywhere were floored when news broke early this week that Cheyenne Floyd has officially been chosen as the replacement for Farrah Abraham on Teen Mom OG. Abraham was released from the show after the airing of an argument with her and Executive Producer Morgan J. Freeman, on the March 12 episode of Teen Mom OG.

Soon after that episode, many tabloids reported that Abraham would be replaced by either Mackenzie Edwards, wife and soon-to-be baby mama to Ryan Edwards, or Mackenzie McKee, who was first featured on 16 and Pregnant and then on the one and only season of Teen Mom 3. McKee was recently up for a spot on Teen Mom 2 but Briana DeJesus was chosen over her. Fans, and many media outlets, were sure that McKee was a no-brainer for Abraham’s spot on OG.

However, MTV had something else up their sleeve. TheAshleysRealityRoundup.com reports the following about Farrah’s chosen replacement, Cheyenne Floyd, “MTV has dipped into the cast pools of some of its other hit shows–'Are You The One?' and 'The Challenge'— and have cast Cheyenne Floyd as the fourth girl on ‘Teen Mom OG.’ Cheyenne and ‘Challenge’ star Cory Wharton share one-year-old daughter Ryder.” And additionally, “As The Ashley previously reported, MTV was seriously considering either Mackenzie McKee or Ryan Edwards‘ wife Mackenzie to take the fourth spot, but both options “fizzled out,” according to one of The Ashley’s sources.“[The network] realized that the fans weren’t going to be excited about either option,” the source said. “So they continued to look.”

Many Teen Mom fans probably don’t even know who Cheyenne Floyd is. Keep reading for 20 facts about the newest OG, Cheyenne Floyd.

20 She Was Never A Teen Mom

Unlike the rest of the Teen Mom OG cast, Cheyenne will be the first who was not actually a Teen Mom, making her an even more unique choice for the spot. She was 24 when she gave birth to her daughter, according to TheAshley’sRealityRoundUp.com.

Of course we remember that the rest of the cast were all featured on the 16 and pregnant series. Catelynn Lowell (Baltierra) was 17 years old when she gave birth to her first child, who she and now husband Tyler Baltierra placed into adoption. Maci Bookout (McKinney) was also 17 when she gave birth to her first son, Bentley. Amber Portwood was 18 years old when she gave birth to her first child, daughter Leah.

19 She Has One Child, A Daughter Named Ryder

She announced her pregnancy on her 24th birthday, taking to Instagram to share a photo of her bump with the caption, “The greatest birthday present in 24 years.” She later went on to share, also on Instagram, that she was expecting a baby girl. Cheyenne gave birth to her daughter Ryder on April 7th, 2017. She announced the news on Twitter with a tweet that read, “Ryder K 4/7/17 My life is complete.” According to Floyd’s YouTube channel, Ryder weighed 7lbs, 14oz and was 21.5 inches long. Cheyenne frequently shares adorable photos of the little one through her Instagram account, so send her follow request @cheynotshey.

18 Her Spot On Teen Mom OG Came Out Of Nowhere

Nobody saw it coming when news dropped that Cheyenne Floyd was picked for Farrah Abraham’s spot on Teen Mom OG, myself included. I previously wrote on Mackenzie McKee that many sources including E!News, TMZ and US Weekly had all confirmed McKee would be taking the Teen Mom OG spot. However, news broke earlier this week by TheAshleysRealityRoundUp.com on the fact that it was actually Cheyenne Floyd and Cory Wharton who would be the new couple featured on Teen Mom OG, and the dotted lines have been signed, making it official. The Ashley previously reported that McKee’s spot was not official and the website refused to confirm McKee as the replacement.

17 It Remains To Be Seen How Her Future Co-Stars Feel About The News

The actual OG’s; Maci Bookout, Catelynn Lowell and Amber Portwood have not made any statements yet in regards to the news. However, it’s no secret that they were all happy to see Farrah Abraham gone. It’s a classic case of be careful what you wish for though, and with Abraham gone, it’s likely the OG trio will be less than welcoming to the addition. Especially given the trio’s tight knit bond and the fact that Floyd was never actually a Teen Mom. Their group chat is probably pretty interesting right now.

TheAshleysRealityRoundUp.com reports the following on the topic, “The Ashley is not sure if the other ‘OG’ girls are aware that Cheyenne has been chosen. After Farrah was fired, Maci, Catelynn and Amber all made it well-known that they did not feel it was appropriate to hire a new girl to replace Farrah. “They can’t [bring in another girl to our show] because we’re the OG’s, the original girls,” Catelynn said in March on Kail Lowry‘s Coffee Convos podcast. “If you do that, it won’t be the original girls anymore.”

Cheyenne Floyd first made her big break on season three of MTV’s Are You The One? Or AYTO?. As described by Wikipedia.com, AYTO?, “...,is an American reality television series on MTV, in which young singles try to find love. A group of men and women are secretly paired into male-female couples by producers, via a matchmaking algorithm. Then, while living together, the contestants try to identify all of these "perfect matches." If they succeed, the entire group shares a prize of up to $1 million…” Floyd’s group didn’t win out on the show, but her run with MTV didn’t end there.

15 And Then On MTV’s The Challenge

After her stint on AYTO?, Floyd was featured on the 28th series of The Challenge: Rivals III. TheChallenge.Wikia.com states of the series, “They’ve been pissed off. They’ve been wronged. They’ve been betrayed. And now they want vengeance! Rivals is back and the stakes couldn’t be higher! Twenty-six fan-favorites from The Challenge, The Real World, and Are You The One? will head to exotic Mexico and be paired up with their biggest enemy! However...this time around the game has a shocking twist – players will be paired up with their rival – of the opposite gender! These guys and girls must figure out a way get over their bad blood as they compete in a series of heart-pounding challenges in order to earn a share of the massive $350,000 prize!...” Floyd went on to win $12,500 off of the series.

14 She Hid The Identity Of Her Baby Daddy For Awhile

Though Floyd was very open with her fans and followers about just about ever regard of her pregnancy, she kept the identity of the baby’s father secret for a long time, around nine months. It was revealed in December of last year that the father was her The Challenge co-star, Cory Wharton.

According to People.com the parents of Ryder both shared a family photo to Instagram. Wharton captioned the photo, “I’ve been off of social media for a while now… for many reasons. Most importantly God has given me the biggest blessing in my life, my daughter Ryder K Wharton. I want to say thank you Cheyenne for being such an amazing mother. I look forward to co-parenting with you and giving Ryder all the love in the world. I can’t wait to watch you grow up and be there for you every step of the way, love you Moochie !!!” Cheyenne also shared the same photo with the caption, “Cory is nothing short of an amazing father. We are so blessed to be raising mooch as co parents together and I couldn’t have asked for a better father for my princess. Our daughter is the best of both of us.”

13 She Shared Her First Moments With Her Daughter On YouTube

As I’ve mentioned several times now, Cheyenne has been known to share some special moments of her life on her YouTube channel, and she even included the birth of her daughter on there. In a video where she is cuddling and soothing baby Ryder, she describes the entire birth in great detail, including her 26 hour labor that ended with the delivery of Ryder K Wharton. She also makes it known that she had a lot of family present mentioning at various points her Mom, Dad, Grandma, Aunt and Sister. The video ends with an emotional clip of her first moments with Ryder.

12 Her Daughter Was Diagnosed With VLCADD

Due to abnormal results on her newborn screening, Floyd had to take baby Ryder back into the hospital for more labs shortly after her birth, which led to her diagnosis of VLCAD. Which is described on Wikipedia.com as, “Very long-chain acyl-coenzyme A dehydrogenase deficiency (VLCADD) is a fatty-acid metabolism disorder which prevents the body from converting certain fats to energy, particularly during periods without food.” She shares that Ryder is on a 50% breastmilk and 50% supplementary formula diet, including other dietary supplements designed especially for babies with VLCADD. She also shares that it’s something that is manageable but it’s something that will have to be monitored and managed for the rest of Ryder’s life.

11 She’s No Longer With Her Baby Daddy, But They’ve Both Been Signed On To The Show

When the couple announced the news of their shared daughter, it was obvious the duo was no longer together. So it’s interesting to hear that both Floyd and Wharton have been signed on to Teen Mom OG. A source tells TheAshleysRealityRoundUp.com reported the following, “One ‘Challenge’ source tells The Ashley that Cory and Cheyenne have known they were in the running for the spot on ‘Teen Mom OG,’ so they have been playing up the “happy co-parents” role….Their co-parenting relationship is nowhere near as happy as they try to make it out to be on social media,” the source said. “They will fit in perfectly on ‘Teen Mom.'”

10 Her Full Name Is Kristyn Cheyenne Floyd

Though there’s little to no information on when and why Floyd decided to drop her first name, it is known that The Challenge star’s name is actually Kristyn Cheyenne Floyd. She has a website with the domain kristyncheyennefloyd.weebly.com from her time as a student at Hampton University (more on both of those subjects in a minute!) so it’s likely she dropped the first name for good once she was signed on to AYTO in 2015. And since there is no other evidence of her using the name Kristyn, I think it’s safe to say she officially goes by Cheyenne.

9 She Is 25 Years Old

According to FamousBirthdays.com, Cheyenne was born on October 19, 1992, making her 25 years old. She will be joining Teen Mom OG co-stars, Maci Bookout; who is 26 years old, Catelynn Lowell; also 26 and Amber Portwood, who is 28 years old. Floyd’s baby daddy, Cory Wharton is 27 years old.

Teen Mom 2 stars Jenelle Evans, Kailyn Lowry, Leah Messer and Chelsea Houska are all 26 years old. New to the series, Briana DeJesus is now the youngest of the crew at 24 years old. It would appear MTV is setting their sights on younger cast members with the addition of DeJesus to Teen Mom 2 and now Floyd to Teen Mom OG.

8 Her Zodiac Sign Is Libra

Floyd will be the only Libra of the Teen Mom OG crew. According to AstrologyZodiacSigns.com, “People born under the sign of Libra are peaceful, fair, and they hate being alone. Partnership is very important for them, as their mirror and someone giving them the ability to be the mirror themselves. These individuals are fascinated by balance and symmetry, they are in a constant chase for justice and equality, realizing through life that the only thing that should be truly important to themselves in their own inner core of personality. This is someone ready to do nearly anything to avoid conflict, keeping the peace whenever possible.” Given this description, it will be interesting to see if it’s an accurate portrayal of Floyd and co-parenting relationship with baby daddy Cory Wharton.

7 She’s From Los Angeles

No stranger to the big city, Floyd is originally from Los Angeles, California. With a population of 3.976 million Cheyenne is no stranger to being surrounded by the hustle and bustle that comes alongside being a reality television star. She still resides in LA, and luckily for her, so does Ryder’s father, Cory Wharton. Ironically, Abraham is no stranger to LA either, as fans will recall from her episodes on Teen Mom OG. Aside from Abraham, no other Teen Mom star has ever lived in LA. From the new series, Teen Mom Young and Pregnant, Ashley Jones and husband Bar Smith reside in Antioch, California.

6 She Studied Public Relations at Hampton University

Cheyenne Floyd will be the only one of the Teen Mom OG cast to hold a Bachelor’s Degree. She studied Public Relations at Hampton University before she was cast on AYTO? In a 2015 interview with the Hampton newspaper, The Hampton Script, Floyd was asked if she missed Hampton, to which she replied, “Yes! I loved Hampton and I miss being in college a lot. The “real world” is great but if I could go back to college and do it over again I would. Embrace it and live it up, four years will go by so fast.” She went on to add, “Sometimes I don’t realize how big of an influence Hampton had on my life. I learned a lot at Hampton, especially in Scripps. I had to remember basic things I learned at Hampton. Anything you say can and will be repeated. Don’t put anything out in the world that you’re not proud of because it will come back to haunt you later.”

5 She Has An Online Clothing Boutique

Established in 2014, Cheyenne has her own online clothing Boutique, TheRuu. According to the online boutique website, the shop was inspired and named after Cheyenne’s Grandmother, Ruby. The about section reads, ”As a child I would play in her closet, and pretend to be a supermodel. Wearing her timeless pieces I felt invincible. I have always attributed my love for fashion and design stemming from her. theRUU is a collection of fitness wear and intimates. The brand will cater to both women and men. The pieces are [gorgeous] and affordable, yet classy. The store will also feature essential items. theRUU will continue to grow and evolve, so make sure to check in often!” You can check it out online at www.theruu.com.

4 She Is Interested In Photography

Floyd’s time at Hampton University also seemed to have inspired her own photography and public relations website, which is still in existence though out of date. On the website, www.kristyncheyennefloyd.weebly.com, she writes, “... As a high school student, I began to get involved with photography and realized the amazing feeling of being able to capture a story through photographs. We were blessed to be able to travel all over the world, seeing countries such as Kenya, Hong Kong, Cuba, Mexico and France, with my camera in hand. Not only did I explore and experience such places through my camera lens, I was able to capture my journey through photography. Sharing my photography has made a big impact on me, as I see how my photographs affect others.” She still loves sharing photos on Instagram, as I mentioned earlier, so be sure to follow her @cheynotshy.

3 She Has Been Involved In Charitable Organizations

Also on her college website, Floyd shares her volunteer work at the time including the following; mentoring young women through Girls Inc, weekly volunteering at Midnight Mission and Los Angeles Mission, working with disabled children at Kids Enjoy Exercise Now (K.E.E.N.), organizing fundraising campaigns such as can drives, clothes drives and toy drives and lastly, a missions trip to Nicaragua to renovate buildings and mentor local children. Though she is likely busy with being a mother and reality tv star, we will likely find out whether or not she has kept up her charitable work or not.

2 She Started A Blog About Her Daughter

If there’s one thing we do know about Cheyenne Floyd, it’s that the girl knows how to make a website. She also started a blog to document her journey of motherhood, you can visit it over at www.raisingryderk.com. The blog’s header states, “Currently still in yesterday's clothes, hair tied up, and fighting Ryder for the laptop, trying to keep her entertained as I begin to write my first blog seems like an impossible task. I plan to be completely honest in my thoughts, wants, needs, and feelings. Here you can find my latest product reviews, monthly updates, rants, and much more.” She hasn’t updated the blog since January (coincidence??) but you can catch up with some juicy details on her co-parenting relationship over on the website.

1 She Has A Supportive Family

On her aforementioned college photography website Floyd shared that her parents have always taught her and her sister to go for their dreams and that they would support them however they could. Additionally, she seems to share lots of special moments of her daughter’s life, including her birth, with her family so it’s evident they’re a tight knit group. She also shared a video to her YouTube Channel, Raising Ryder, of her and Ryder traveling to Michigan with Cory Wharton to introduce the little girl to his family. It’s a cute video in which Wharton’s family is over the moon about the addition to the family. His family gives Ryder lots of sweet gifts and they look through family photos together.
