After a controversial quit from America’s Got Talent, Gabrielle Union had only one thing in her mind – family! She shared some lovely photos with her 13-month-old daughter Kaavia and 12-years stepson Zion.
The She's All That and 10 Things I Hate About You star flooded her Instagram with some cute photos captioned “My ❤s 🎄🎁 Family Time Is The Best Time.” The family posed on her decked out the backyard, complete with a sky-high Christmas tree ornamented with yellow gold lights and with an enormous gold star on the top.
In one pic, you will see the brother and sister are all smiles with little Kaavia in her mom’s arms, and Gabrielle giving a tight hug to Zion! In the next pic, the big brother holds Kaavia up by her arms, and the last two are all about mommy-daughter time! The baby seems rejoiced as her mom whirls her around amidst the picture-perfect winter wonderland.
There’s a welcome sign pointing to seriously fun-sounding "Sleigh Rides" along with directions to “Santa’s Helpers”! We can also spot a well-lit reindeer in the background and gorgeous swirls of golden lights in the shape of mini Christmas trees.
The photo came a week after the actor has been fired from her job as a judge on NBC’s America’s Got Talen. Fellow judge Julianne Hough was also let go from the NBC show, co-produced by Cowell's company Syco and Fremantle. Upon news becoming public, Gabrielle has described her experience as a judge on AGT as “toxic”.
This has prompted NBC to launch an investigation into the show and the “dominance” of its creator Simon Cowell, 60. Union also claimed that AGT’s host Jay Leno cracked inappropriate jokes, and she was supposedly “subjected to a very specific critique — that her rotating hairstyles were ‘too black’ for the audience of AGT. Variety, a sister publication of Hollywood life, reported she received the same feedback several times. NBC has since promised Union an investigation to “get a deeper understanding of the facts."
Deadline reported that an independent investigator would evaluate the claims made by Union, who replaced Spice Girl Mel B as a judge this past season, joining Cowell, comedian Howie Mandel, and dancer Julianne Hough. Union later tweeted on Wednesday, about the meeting, “We had a lengthy 5-hour, and what I thought to be, productive meeting yesterday. I was able to, again, express my unfiltered truth. I led with transparency and my desire and hope for real change. A host of TV personalities, including Patricia Arquette, Ariana Grande, and Hough, have commented in support of her.
Screen Actors Guild and American Federation Of Television And Radio Artists are also studying Union’s departure from the show. Gabrielle is “not interested in a settlement or having this swept under the rug,” said a source close to her. “She genuinely wants to change an outdated system and wants to make it better for the women who come after her," they explained.
