Gender Reveal In Texas Goes Wrong & Results In A Terrifying Plane Crash

Over the last few years, gender reveal parties have become a hot thing for parents-to-be almost everywhere. Some will have a quiet celebration among close family and friends, while others will go big with an extravagant party that features all the bells and whistles. While the latter may be more fun than a simple gender reveal, the reality is something bad can happen that you could've never seen coming- all just to tell people if you're expecting a baby boy or a baby girl.

Roughly 100 miles southeast of Amarillo in Turkey, Texas, a botched gender reveal led to a terrifying plane crash. Back on Saturday, September 7th, 2019, the plane-which had two unidentified occupants inside- was flying at a low altitude. That was so it could dump roughly 350 gallons of pink water out of the air.

According to the National Transportation Safety Board accident report, the aerial applicator plane "got too slow" and "aerodynamically stalled". It soon hit the ground and then rested "inverted". The damage done to the airplane was to the empennage, fuselage and its right wing- leaving it a pile of twisted metal.

The National Transportation Safety Board accident report also revealed, "The pilot reported that there were no pre-accident mechanical failures or malfunctions with the airplane that would have precluded normal operation."

More interestingly, the plane that crashed is known to be a single-seat airplane- yet two individuals were seated inside at the time. The pilot escaped the crash unharmed, while the passenger suffered unspecified minor injuries. Neither individual has been named, and it's unknown at this time if either of them will face any legal repercussions for this plane crash.

This freak accident is yet another reminder to be careful when planning how to pull off your gender reveal. If you decide to host a gender reveal party, then do it and have fun. But don't go overboard by doing a ridiculous explosion or stunt that could turn fatal in the blink of an eye. It isn't worth risking your's and/or someone else's life for that Instagram-worthy moment of revealing your unborn baby's gender.
