This Georgia Mom Didn’t Know She Was Expecting Until She Was Delivering

A new mom in Georgia didn’t know she was pregnant until a baby literally “fell out of her.”

And before you go criticizing, she had every reason to believe she wasn’t pregnant. She continued to get her period, never gained any noticeable amount of weight, and didn’t even feel slightly nauseous until the weekend before she gave birth.

Quanesha Hulett is a 24-year-old new mom in Waverly, Georgia and works as a mail person for the United States Postal Service. On Monday, February 19th, Hulett was delivering Amazon packages (as is mostly the job of the USPS nowadays) when she felt a little off. She believed them to be stomach cramps and dismissed the feeling.

“I got off at 2:30 and was going to go home shower and nap,” she told PEOPLE magazine. “But my stomach hurt so much, so I called my mom to come home and take me to the hospital.”

Initially Hulett thought it was an awful case of constipation, but then she felt “something was coming out of her.” The pain got to be so bad that her mother called 911 to notify the emergency room of her daughter’s condition and prep for their arrival.

Then the unthinkable happened.

“I felt something drop, hit the car seat and start to cry,” Hulett said. “I was in so much shock I passed out. I really thought I was dreaming.”

Suddenly with two passengers instead of one, Hulett’s mom pulled over and police were directed to her location. It was a good thing too, because the newborn child wasn’t breathing due to an obstructed airway.

That’s when Officer Martin Davis arrived like a knight in shining armor.

“Officer Martin Davis saved his life,” Quanesha Hulett tells PEOPLE. “It’s a miracle he’s alive.”

Officer Davis performed finger compressions on the baby and revived him. Then both mom and newborn son were taken to hospital.

They spent three days under observation, but doctors concluded that little Quincy was born a healthy 6 pounds and 4 ounces. Doctors believe that Hulett gave birth between 41 and 42 weeks.

Although Quincy was certainly unexpected, Hulet has welcomed him with open arms. “I’ve put all of my savings into this baby,” she says. “I spent the first day at home on Walmart.com buying everything I needed. My life is his life now. I’m very happy.”
