Gordon Ramsay recently shared a picture of his four-month-old son Oscar getting his first haircut. Judging from the tot’s expression, he’s just as cranky as his famously cantankerous dad. Ramsay, who posted the photo to Instagram, wrote, “Not happy having my first hair cut…” In the pic, Oscar displays the same disapproval that his chef dad does when a dish is not to his liking.
Fans were quick to point out that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, at least in pictures. One user commented, “Is he mentally calling her a ‘donkey’ or a ‘donut’?” Another added, “He's like, ‘You call that a haircut? Pathetic!’” And a third poster wrote, “(The) face you make when the scallops are frozen.”
Baby Oscar seems to have inherited his dad’s infamous scowl, which may come in handy if he ever decides to follow in his father's footsteps or work at the DMV. The boy, who had his first haircut in his dad’s kitchen – where else? – was less than impressed by the results, yet he did seem to brighten a bit afterward, proving that unlike his dad, he may have a soft side.
Kitchen Nightmares star Gordon, 52, who was obviously in on the joke, knew how the pic would be interpreted. Oscar, who already has his own Instagram page, where he is up to 148,000 followers, also shared the picture (or at least his dad did).
In April, Ramsay welcomed his fifth child, with wife Tana. The couple already has four children Megan, 21, Matilda and twins Jack and Holly, 19. Regarding the new addition to the family, the couple wrote on social media, “After 3 BAFTAs and one Emmy… finally we have won an Oscar. Please welcome Oscar James Ramsay, who touched down at 12.58 today for some lunch Xxx.” In another recent post, Oscar is shown snuggling with a toy monkey while watching TV. Gordon captioned the cute pic, “Monday mornings with dad.”
Gordon Ramsay’s seemingly awful disposition is more for show that anything else. With an estimated net worth of $190 million, he has nothing to complain about. The chef, however, is known for being highly competitive, according to his mentor Marco Pierre White. He has had very conflictive encounters, such as when he kicked out famous food critic A.A. Gill, who was dining with actress Joan Collins, from his restaurant. Gill later stated that “Ramsay is a wonderful chef, just a really second-rate human being.”
No doubt his wife and kids feel differently. Ramsay has been married to Cayetana Elizabeth Hutcheson, a schoolteacher, since 1996. The family divides their time between London and Los Angeles. The couple is very active in charity. Ramsay is an Honorary Patron of the Scottish Spina Bifida Association. He also works to raise money for AIDS and HIV treatment in India and UNICEF.
