From the hit Netflix series You, Penn Badgley and his singer wife, Domino Kirke, have welcomed their first child together. The couple have previously endured two miscarriages in a row and are now able to celebrate the life of their new baby boy. The former Gossip Girl actor and the singer began dating in 2014. The couple got married in February of 2017 in a small private ceremony that was only attended by Kirke's family. This isn't the first child for Kirke, as she has a son from a previous relationship.
According to Kiro7, it was reported by People that Badgley and his wife, Domino Kirke, announced via Instagram that they have welcomed their first child together over a month ago on August 11th. Kirke, who is also a doula, shared a photo on Instagram of a print of her placenta on a sheet of paper with the caption, "His heart shaped home #40dayspostpartum #placentaart". The singer and doula announced her pregnancy in February, revealing that she previously endured "two miscarriages in a row" before their little one's arrival. The couple originally felt like they were ready to "call it quits" after the miscarriages, but decided to persevere through it and ended up with a beautiful baby boy.
In an Instagram post from February, Kirke announced her pregnancy as well as explaining her journey into motherhood to her followers. "I stopped trusting my body and started to accept the fact that I was done," Kirke wrote. "As a birth attendant, I've seen and heard it all. It takes everything I've got to detach lovingly from the losses I've been present for and be in my own experience." She goes on to say how much she has learned since she was 25 when she gave birth to her first son, Cassius Riley, in 2009. The singer recalled not knowing anything about birth and how now through her 10 years of being a doula she has experienced so much. "Now, with 10 years worth of experience to pull from, I treasure my birth community and the knowledge I have," she said in her post. At the end of the post Kirke addressed her unborn child at the time, writing, "You're already teaching us how to stay in the day in a way we've never had to, little one. Thank you."
Penn and Domino finally got the beautiful child they have always wanted together. Congratulations to the happy couple on their new journey into parenthood!
