Country music artist, Granger Smith, lost his son on June 6 due to a drowning incident and is not asking for donations to the medical center.

Granger Smith, an American country singer, and songwriter, sadly reported that his son, River, passed away on June 6, 2019. His death was confirmed while being tended to at Dell's Children Medical Center. Smith's rep told People that River passed away due to a tragic drowning accident that occurred at Smith's residents. Smith wrote on his Instagram about their tragic loss and he doesn't have the words to describe the emotions that they are going through during this time.

A T-shirt was created in honor of River through Smith's Clothing line, Yee Yee, and they are selling the shirt in tribute to his death. The t-shirt was created with an excavator on a red printed shirt.  Smith said that his son loved to watch the excavations scoop up big piles of dirt and red was his favorite color.

Smith's supporters also set up a donation fund where people could donate to the Dell Medial Center in River's name. Smith and his wife shared that their supporters have already donated about $88,000 to the hospital and they are so grateful to all of the supporters who have come together to help them through this horrible time in their lives.

Smith explained that his son was brought to the Dell Medical Center to save his life, but despite their best efforts, they were not able to save him. They made the unimaginable decision to let him pass away. They decided that they were going to donate all of River's organs to help other children in need. Although it doesn't help them grieve, it is nice to know that River was able to save lives. Smith shares that Riv was very special and he brought so much joy to everybody he came across. They shared that the light that he expressed has left an imprint on their hearts forever.

Our hearts are aching for the Smith family and can't imagine their tragic loss. Every parent's worst nightmare is to lose one of their children and we can't even find the words to share how sad we are for this family. We hope that they can find peace in their lives. If you would like to help with this family then they are asking for donations to the Dell Medical Center where Smith said that the medical staff there was just incredible.
