The road to baby has not been an easy one for the couple, who have been together for about ten years. Four years ago, their journey to expanding their family began. Rossi shared details of her IVF journey at the time revealing that during the first round the couple lost 14 embryos. The loss was so devastating to the reality TV star that she decided to take a break before trying IVF again.
A year and a half later Rossi and Smiley began to have discussions about going through IVF treatments for the second time. Although she was getting discouraged, Rossi said that a conversation with her mother around her 40th birthday made her change her outlook on having a family. Not long after the discussion, Rossi was implanted again but this time around the news was not grim. It was the news she had been waiting years to hear; she was pregnant.
Despite having a severe bout of morning sickness or all-day sickness as Gretchen Rossi calls it, she is over the moon to be pregnant. She and Slade Smiley will welcome their little bundle of joy in July of 2019. It is too early for the couple to know the sex of their baby, Rossi is still in her first trimester, but no doubt they will gladly reveal the gender once they learn the baby is a boy or girl.
Although this is the first child for Rossi, Smiley has two children from previous relationships. Son Gavin is 27-years-old, and son Grayson is 17-years-old. Sadly, Grayson has been battling brain cancer since he was 6-years-old.
Congrats to Gretchen and Slade on the news that they are expecting their first child together.
