When it comes to motherhood, Hilary Duff has just realized something that a lot of other moms have known for a very long time, and that there are no days off. As a matter of fact, the Hollywood actress recently admitted that she felt rather guilty staying in bed all day because of her strep throat. Even though she was sick and unable to take care of her children, the feeling of not being able to tend to her kids made her feel quite guilty.
According to People Magazine, the blonde beauty said that she was overcome with mom guilt while battling a very contagious case of strep throat. The actress has two children: her son Luca, 7, and her 10-month-old daughter Banks Violet. She took to her Instagram account to let her fans know that she felt awful that she couldn’t spend any time with her kids while she was recovering from the illness.
Duff explained last week that she was super sick and in bed all day but was getting an IV to hopefully feel better. She then asked her social media followers, “As a parent, why does it feel so horrible to be sick? Like, the guilt of being in bed.”
She went on to explain that her head was spinning and that she felt as though she should be doing a “million things” but was stuck in bed instead. Duff said that being sick and forced to be away from your kids is one of the hardest parts of parenting.
“There’s obviously times when I’ve had to be with my kids all day long, sick and feeling horrible, with no help,” the mother of two continued. “But today, I have help and I should be resting and the guilt is crazy.”
Because she was unable to do anything or go anywhere, Hilary Duff decided to utilize her time in bed to prepare for her upcoming Lizzie McGuire reboot. She recently said that she did a walk-through of the Disney show’s new stage last week and was excited to see so much work done on the new project. Apparently Duff isn’t the only person who is excited about the reboot, as plenty of her fans have also expressed their joy over seeing the show back on the small screen again.

“It was so exciting to imagine all the sets being built in a month’s time and that world just starting to be created,” Duff added in one of her Instagram stories. “It’s really exciting and a total dream come true, and I’m glad I’m getting this sickness out of the way, so hopefully when we start filming I’ll be in fighting form.”
Disney announced the news at the D23 Expo convention back in August.
