Actress Hilary Duff and DJ/singer Matthew Koma are overjoyed to see their October birthday girl, Banks Violet, turn 1-year old this year.
According to Us Weekly, Duff, who shares son, Luca, 7, with ex-husband, Mike Comrie, started dating Koma in 2015 and the two became engaged this May. Duff told Us Weekly that Banks is definitely showing strong signs of being a "go-getter" already. She says that when her little girl wants something, there is no stopping her. Banks will find a way to go after it. She is also very loving to her big brother. What a little sweetie!
One day, Banks will be very touched when she gets old enough to read the heartfelt Instagram post her father wrote to her in honour of her first birthday. Proud papa Koma took to the popular social media site to write that being Banks' father is the best gift of his life and also expresses how he now knows how precious time is.
Koma used the opportunity to pay his appreciation to his fiancee, Duff, as well, calling her a "powerhouse when it comes to all things life." But Koma said that "she shines on a completely different level as your mommy." Koma goes on to write that Banks is a very lucky little girl to have such a wonderful doting mom and a protective big brother in Luca (who they call "bruvah").
Lucky little Banks doesn't just have her big bro Luca to show her the ropes, she's got a built-in best friend to grow up with! Duff's sister, Haylie Duff, has two daughters, Ryan, 4 and baby Lulu Gray. Lulu was born just a few months before Banks in 2018. The Duff sisters have said that they often dress the cousins up in matching outfits and set them up on playdates. The cousin playdate verdict is that Banks and Lulu are already getting along as well as their moms do! We can't wait to see these two cutie pies grow up together!
