Big things are happening at Lizzie McGuire star Hilary Duff’s house. Just the other day she posted a video to Instagram showing her 12-month old daughter, Banks, taking her first steps. Remember that Banks has been on the move since she was six months old, so walking at her first birthday must have been no surprise to anyone. Duff captioned the video with, "@matthewkoma and I have a walker!”. Matthew Koma is Banks' father and Duff's fiancé since this past May. In the video, Banks takes several big girl steps with her mom’s encouragement and then lands on safely on her bottom. Duff and Koma are going to have their hands full with a new toddler roaming around the house!
Koma isn't shy about showing off his family on Instagram either. A few weeks ago, he posted an adorable picture of him holding what looks like a smash cake and leaning into Duff for a kiss to celebrate Banks' first birthday. Before that, he posted a picture of him and Banks dressed up like a rain cloud sitting in the grass and captioned it as "I have a lot of explaining to do to our daughter one day." Though normally his captions are only a few words, the pictures say it all.
The Younger actress, who is also mother to 7-year old Luca, has embraced motherhood with such enthusiasm. Duff constantly posts sweet moments with her children on Instagram. Whether she and her family are eating at the dinner table, at the park, or playing dress-up, Duff invites her fans to peek into their lives. Most recently, she gave her followers a preview of her newest partnership with Happy Little Camper and Veeda, which will provide parents with earth-friendly products for both baby and mom.
Not only have her children and business plans been keeping Duff busy, but she also continues to star in the Hulu Original Series Younger and has started filming for the Lizzie McGuire series sequel that will stream exclusively on Disney+. With the love and support of Koma, she has been able to find the right balance between a career and family. All in all, everyone in this family is taking steps in the right direction.
