Move over, Rachel McAdams: there's another pumping mama in town.

Actress and singer-songwriter Hilary Duff recently took a page out of McAdam's book when she shared a black-and-white pumping photo as an homage to McAdam's now-iconic Girls. Girls. Girls magazine cover photo last month, where she was photographed draped in designer diamonds and jewellery absolutely rocking a breast pump.

Duff, 31, who recently gave birth to her second child - a girl named Banks with partner Matthew Koma - took a slightly different approach to her photo, however, ditching the jewels and glam and instead opting for a casual winter coat thrown over her shoulders and an open blouse with a carefully inserted manual breast pump. Contrary to McAdams' sexy, slicked back 'do, Duff decided to go with a salon-inspired plastic cap as she refreshes her colour, presumably to show that her multitasking skills are still very much up to snuff.

"Am I doing it right?" she captioned the photo, which juxtaposed McAdams' version alongside her own tribute. It was met with an onslaught of positive and affirming comments from friends and fans alike.

New mom Jordin Sparks commented, "I love it!" and even actress Emma Roberts showed her unwavering support. But just like with McAdams' photo, not everyone was as enthusiastic.

"Big deal, celebrities breastfeed," one user wrote.

"Women shouldn't be nursing their babies in public," stated another. "We all need to keep that stuff at home."

With almost one million likes on Duff's Instagram pumping photo, it's clear that many people do not agree - however, there is still a stigma when it comes to new moms breastfeeding their babies in public. Fortunately, thanks to numerous campaigns and advocates - including brands, corporations and celebrity moms like McAdams and Duff - it is slowly being reversed, and the very natural act of breastfeeding a baby, no matter where or when, is more and more normalized with each passing day.

The trials and tribulations of a pumping mama isn't the only tale of parenthood Duff has shared with her fans online. In fact, the Lizzie McGuire star and mom-of-two (she shares six-year-old son Luca with ex Mike Comrie) has been known for her relatable honesty when it comes to navigating the waters of parenthood, which is most clearly projected via her personal Instagram. From colic to sibling love, she pretty much covers it all.

The question still remains, however: is this town big enough for two fierce pumping moms? We think so.

Definitely yes.

Bring it on, mamas.
