Television host Hoda Kotb is loving motherhood so much that she’s already admitted that she’s keeping the door open about possibly adding a third child to her growing family- even though she welcomed a second daughter not too long ago. As a matter of fact, the new celebrity mom says that she’s receptive to that very idea, as she's said that being a mother has been the most rewarding role of her life so far.

Speaking to People Magazine in a recent interview, the Today Show co-anchor says that one of the reasons why should would like to have a third child is because she comes from a family of three herself. Kotb introduced her daughter Hope Catherine to the world last month after she adopted the young tot with her boyfriend, Joel Schiffrin. The 54-year-old says that she knew she wanted to expand her family ever since she adopted her first daughter, Haley Joy, back in 2017.

She told the publication, “I wanted another child, and I also thought Haley needs somebody to witness her life all the way through. A second child would just make it complete.”

Kotb didn’t waste any time calling the adoption center she worked with only three months later about taking the next steps to adopt another child. However, she had to wait nine months before she could start any of the paperwork. Kotb and Schiffrin then applied for a second adoption in November of 2017. For the next several months, the couple would receive phone calls about potential matches, but nothing seemed to work out. After some time, Kotb began to feel discouraged, and believed that a second child was perhaps not in the cards for her after all.

Kotb says that she finally got the call that she'd been waiting for just last month. She says that she was overcome with emotion when the agency told her that there was a little girl waiting to become a part of her family. Needless to say, she’s been smiling from ear to ear ever since. Although her entire family is adjusting to their newest addition, she says that it’s been nothing but complete joy ever since Hope entered their lives.

"I felt like, before Haley came, I'd had an average life. She stepped in it, my heart exploded. And then all of a sudden this little girl Hope steps in, and you realize how much room there is in there," she said. "You think you're topped out. But your heart's ability to expand blows my mind."
