A hospital decided to dress four newborns up like the characters from Wizard of Oz to help celebrate the movie's 80th Anniversary!

The iconic movie, The Wizard of Oz, is celebrating it's 80th Anniversary! To help celebrate, the medical staff at Newborns at Allegheny Health Network’s West Penn decided to dress up the children in the nursery as characters from the movie. The staff dressed up four children as some of the most beloved characters from the movie. They dressed up the children as Dorothy, Tin Man, Scarecrow as well as the Cowardly Lion. In one of the photos, the Scarecrow didn't seem to be so happy to be dressed up as one of the characters, but all of the other children were okay with portraying the movie.

The medical staff at AHN really wanted to help their little ones know“the dreams that they dare to dream really do come true.” They want their patients to know that they can do whatever they want in this life and that they can be whatever they want to be. All of the character outfits were crocheted for the little babies except for baby Dorothy who was wearing a blue and white plaid onesie with ruffle sleeves with cute little red shoes.

Little Jack Minett was dressed up as the Scarecrow he is the son of Brittany and Lewis Minett of Wexford. Baby Andrew Gianettino was dressed up as the Cowardly Lion and is the son of Jennie and Anthony Gianettino of Peters Township.  Newborn little girl Genevieve Dunkin was dressed up as Dorothy and is the beautiful daughter of Taylor and Mark Dunkin of Hampton Township. And finally, baby boy Wesley Lynch was dressed as the Tinman and is the son of Lindsey and Andrew Lynch of Hampton Township.

We thought that this was such a cute idea and we are so grateful that they were able to see the pictures of the cute little babies. We would love to know more about this story if anybody has any additional details. We want to know who made these adorable outfits for these sweet little children! And we want to know how the medical staff chose to dress these specific babies up like the characters in the Wizard of Oz.
