James Van Der Beek is now officially a father of 5!

The former Dawson's Creek alumni, 41, and his wife, Kimberly, announced the birth of their baby girl Gwendolyn. Taking to Instagram, the actor joyfully informed fans that his family had grown by one new member.

Gwendolyn was born on Friday, just in time for Father's Day. She joins sisters Olivia, 7, Annabel, 4, Emilia, 2, and brother Joshua, 6.

According to PEOPLE, the couple had baby Gwendolyn at their home, with the help of a doctor and a midwife. The three children proceeding Gwendolyn were also born at home, but their oldest daughter, Olivia, was born in the hospital.

When Van Der Beek first told fans of his wife's fifth pregnancy, he acknowledged that some might think them crazy for having another child. But he also stated that he was super excited at the news of a new addition and that he was "in awe" of his wife, Kimberly.

Van Der Beek has had a lustrous Hollywood career in not only TV but also in movies. His big break came in the form of Varsity Blues, but most people recognize him from the hit TV series Dawson's Creek. His latest project, Pose, is a drama musical that came out this year. It was created by Ryan Murphy, who is also responsible (along with Brad Falchuck and Ian Brennan) for musical favorites like TV's Glee. The series Pose is set in 1980's New York and features a robust cast of transgender actors. The show explores society life in several factions of New York society and has been getting good reviews from fans and critics alike.

Van Der Beek has proven already that he can sing-- he sang in the theme song Vamprina-- a Disney Junior show that starred himself and Lauren Graham. The pair plays the parts of Boris and Oxana Hauntley, who are parents to the show's namesake.

Although this actor has had incredible success, he also seems to keep his family as his number one priority.

In his Instagram post that announced the birth of his newest daughter, Van Der Beek also took the time to thank his wife. The television star called her an "earth goddess rock star", a touching sentiment from this A-list actor.

Congrats to Van Der Beek family on their newest addition!
