Janet Jackson is sharing how her motherhood experience has helped her find peace in her life.

In a candid interview with Billboard magazine, Jackson opened up about how she has changed since embracing motherhood. She became a first-time mom at the age of 50, when she welcomed son Eissa in January of 2017.

“Even in his short 17 months on the planet, [my son] has showed me that love, no matter how deeply you believe you have experienced that emotion, can always go deeper. Love is limitless," she explains. "And for someone like me, raised in show business where self-concern is always a priority, how fortunate I am now to be concerned, first and foremost, with the welfare of someone else. Day after day and night after night, holding my baby in my arms, I am at peace. I am blessed. I feel bliss. In those moments, all is right with the world," she shared.

For Jackson, the birth of her son and her transition into motherhood has marked a deeply happy and peaceful time in her life. She is focused on gratitude and being with her little boy.

The notoriously private mother, who shares her son with ex-husband Wissam Al Mana, even spilled whom her little boy’s favorite musician is right now. Oh yes, he may only be 2-years-old, but Eissa is already into music. However, his famous mom is not one of his favorite musicians to listen to, but that is because Jackson listened one music man at a pivotal time in her pregnancy.

“Bruno Mars was really the first music my son responded to. During and after his birth, I comforted myself with Brazilian jazz, music that always relaxes me. Then when the baby began crawling, Bruno was breaking out big and on the radio all the time. That delighted both of us. Bruno is a throwback to the days when the greatest artists could do it all: write, sing, dance, produce," Jackson proudly revealed of the man whose music has influenced her baby boy.

Motherhood has definitely changed Janet Jackson but don’t expect the singer to slow down anytime soon. She is still focusing on her music, which she admitted is coming along slowly, but drive is in her DNA. Jackson is very motivated, a trait she has had since she was a young girl. Seriously would you expect anything less from Ms. Jackson?
