Actress, Janet Montgomery reminisces about her calm c-section.

Janet Montgomery said that being a woman is really hard because there are a lot of insecurities that you have about yourself and your body. She said that ever since she became a mother she said that she has been more cautious about what she says about herself. She said that if she says she is "fat" then her daughter is going to hear that and that might be her daughter's "hangup" as well.

Montgomery said that the one thing that she was really worried about was breastfeeding. She was terrified if she was going to be able to do it and she was scared that it might hurt. She said that she had a really terrible pregnancy and she was really sick. Then she had a very traumatic birth where they ended up having to do an emergency c-section which was not part of the plan. Then the doctors handed her the baby and "she went on like a pacman." She said that part was really easy and she laughs and shrugs and says, "I am a natural."

She was in 22 hours of labor and things had gotten really bad. However, Janet never knew how bad things were and so she really wasn't that stressed out. Her doctor stayed really calm which made her very calm about the whole situation. She said that he told her very calmly that the baby's heartbeat was dropping and that she had a really high fever and so they were going to have to do a c-section. She said that everybody stayed so calm and that "nobody was manic." She admitted that she found that very fascinating because she plays a doctor on television and that is not what is depicted in her show. She said that it was very interesting.

Montgomery said that she didn't know something really scary was happening until after it was all over because everybody stayed so calm. She said that her husband noticed something was wrong but didn't want to tell her. He said that he noticed several more doctors come in and looked at the monitor. They all then started having a conversation and then that is when they made the decision to do the c-section. She was very happy that they all remained calm and her husband didn't fully tell her what was going on because she was happy not knowing. She said that she was in oblivion because she was "high on epidural."
