Jeffrey Dean Morgan is opening up about he and wife Hilarie Burton’s attempts at trying to have a second child.

The Walking Dead star sat down with People Magazine earlier this week to discuss everything from the show to parenting. Morgan and wife Burton share a son, Augustus Morgan, who will be turning 8-years-old this upcoming March.

When asked about his parenting skills, Jeffrey admitted he’s “good at” parenting alongside his partner in crime. “I don’t want to toot my own horn, but I just think that being a dad has been the greatest gift I’ve gotten in my entire life,” said the actor. “I want him to have the best life possible. Every day I think that’s my goal, as well as his mothers.” A noble response that any loving parent would give!

The 51-year-old actor continued by sharing in his interview how being a father has changed his life in “every possible way.” Morgan and Burton’s son, Gus, first came into their lives right around the same time Morgan’s career was in full force. The actor stars in the hit series The Walking Dead, and his character first came into the spotlight around the same time his son was born. “Everything was kind of hitting full cylinder. And I suddenly had this little boy,” he confessed.

Burton, who is 16 years younger than Morgan, is currently pregnant with their second child together. The two had announced they're expecting a girl, and her arrival has been a long anticipated one. The couple admitted they had been “trying for a while,” and they could not be happier the time has finally come.

“I always wanted a little girl. I got my little boy and now I get to have a little girl,” Morgan shared, “so we’re very, very excited!” We would be, too! The star continued, saying how excited son Gus is as well, and that he can't wait to be a hands-on big brother.

Although Gus is excited, Morgan revealed there is one concern the soon-to-be big brother has and that he says is off limits to his future sister. “His concern has been about the baby getting into his stuff. He likes his stuff,” the actor told People. We don’t blame Gus for voicing his concerns.

We are sending mad love to Jeffrey and wife Hilarie, and wish them nothing but the best throughout their pregnancy with baby number two.
