Even since she joined Instagram last year, Jennifer Garner has been giving fans a more candid look into her personal life. This weekend, the actress shared that she took her children ‘backyard camping.’ But it sounds like things didn’t end as planned!
The 47-year old revealed she was woken up unexpectedly after spending the night sleeping in the backyard with her three children. “Backyard campout,” she captioned a selfie showing herself wrapped in a sleeping bag. “Kids still sleeping. Sprinklers.” Clearly the family’s plans to sleep-in after their night of camping was ruined by the sprinklers that went off automatically.
Jennifer shares her three kids with her-ex-husband Been Affleck. They have two girls, 13-year old Violet and 10-year old Seraphina, as well as one son, 7-year old Samuel. The pair were married from 2005 to 2018 before parting ways, though they originally separated in 2016.
Despite their messy split (the two broke-up amidst reports she discovered Ben had an affair), the exes do a seemingly amazing job at co-parenting. They’re regularly seen hanging out with their kids together, including often attending the same church service as a family each Sunday. This past Mother’s Day, Ben shared a photo of his mother walking alongside his ex-wife with the caption, “Happy Mother’s Day to the two incredible mothers who have shown me the meaning of love.”
However, the former couple have had to put in a lot of work in order to get to the place where they are, including counselling. Jennifer also helped Ben check in to rehab last year for his gambling problem. The actor had previously attended rehab, first in 2001 and then as recent as 2017, before his 2018 stint.
“Ben and Jen have done a ton of work to get to a healthy place,” a source explained to Hollywood Life. “Ben has worked hard to become a better father and Jen has worked on things from her side too. It has been a long road, but they are all getting along really well, they have found a way to make it all work.”
If one thing is clear, it seems that Jennifer and Ben seem to be doing great in their professional and personal lives. Fans love to see Jen update them regularly about the fun things she gets up to with her kids, especially when it involves something as hilarious as getting woken up by sprinklers.
