Many young women have considered actress Jennifer Love Hewitt a role model for years. Now that she's a mom of two children, she recently explained to US Weekly how she tries to set a good example to her own kiddos.

If you loved Party of Five, then you know that Hewitt was considered "America's Sweetheart" in the '90s and early 2000s. Girls adored her, guys crushed on her. Now, little ones Autumn, 5, and Atticus, 4, know her as Mom and look up to her very much.

"I think that’s important to show your children that you are something other than just their parent and it’s been really nice for me to have that experience," Hewitt told press at the Fox All-Star Party on Aug. 7th during the TCA summer press tour. "I do feel like I'm on a beautiful show for my daughter. My son doesn't really understand it as much right now but my daughter really [does]."

Hewitt was referring to the procedural drama 9-1-1 where she plays Maddie, a 911 operator. The actress shares her son and daughter with her husband, Brian Hallisay, her former The Client List co-star. The two have also acted together on 9-1-1, as well.

She shared that the transition to leave her children for the show is "much tougher" for her than it is for them and joked that her kids wanted her out of the house already. She also said that her daughter was studying emergency situations in school recently and told her school friends, "Oh, if you get in an emergency situation, just call my mommy. She's not going to help you. She's going to send someone else to do it.'"

Hewitt's daughter, Autumn was referring to Maddie, Hewitt's character on 9-1-1. The actress explained that her daughter had previously asked her, "How come you always answer the phone but you don't actually help anyone?" She continued, "I was like, 'Thanks, a lot, babe.'"

We think it's so fitting that Hewitt is raising her kids with humour and sweetness - it's a great combo that suits her well!
