Jessica Biel Discusses Her Need For "Grandma" As A Mother

Jessica Biel is opening up about her secret way to surviving motherhood: grandma! Since becoming a mom, Jessica has admitted that she has a newfound appreciation for her mother and everything she did for her growing up. Jessica is mom to a 3-year-old son named Silas with husband Justin Timberlake.

Jessica shared an Instagram post where she and her mom enjoyed some Mother's Day mimosas and quality time together. She left a sentimental message saying, "It took me almost thirty years to truly understand everything you sacrificed for me. I am in awe of your wisdom and grace, and I hope I can emulate those ideals with my own child". Biel admitted that she and her mom didn't get to enjoy too many mimosas during lunch because she is the mom of a young son after all. Kids really squash your drinking style.

ETOnline met up with Jessica at her restaurant Au Fudge in West Hollywood. The restaurant strives to make the dining out experience enjoyable for both parents and children. Au Fudge hosts multiple events a month just for kids so they can learn to cook, dress up, get creative, and have some yummy food.

This was where she shared that her family has been her greatest support when it comes to raising her child. That's a refreshing statement to hear since so many celebrities hire nannies to help them with their kids. It's important for both grandparent and grandchild to enjoy each other and spend time together if it's possible. Plus with her hubby on a huge world tour, she needs the extra support and help. And that's where grandma comes in.

Parenthood is very difficult and you don't know how exhausting and selfless it really is until you're a parent yourself. Some small appreciation and recognition is so important.

Justin Timberlake certainly didn't disappoint Jessica when he took time off from his Man of the Woods tour to fly home and spend Mother's Day with her and their son. He'll be on tour through January 2019 and will no doubt continue to pop in to support his wife.

Did you have a new appreciation for your mom after having a baby? What did you learn? Do you think grandparents play an important role in raising kids?
