Jessica Biel opened up about her emergency C-section in a new book coming out soon.
Every first-time parent has to face the nigh-overwhelming pressure of having their first kid. Some try to ignore the pressure, while others over prepare for the big day by purchasing every parenting book and watching every “ what to do when you're going into labor” video on YouTube.
Celebrity power couple Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel definitely fall into the latter category. In a new book from “Nanny to the Stars” Connie Simpson, Jessica Biel reveals how they dealt with having their first child, Silas, born in April of 2015.
The book, titled The Nannie Connie Way: Secrets to Mastering the First Four Months of Parenthood, is set for release April 10th. A few excerpts were published on ET a week before release day, and one excerpt reveals that Justin and Jessica were the “over preparing kind of parents.”
"Our story with Nanny Connie started the day we brought our son home from the hospital,” writes Biel. “That may sound like a normal statement coming from new parents, except our birth plan was anything but normal. We had two midwives, one doula, one meditation birthing class, a ton of hippie baby books, and a lovely home in the Hollywood Hills that we had turned into a labor training facility that we called The Octagon. So, not exactly normal.”
After things didn't go exactly as planned, Jessica admits she maybe went a little overboard on trying to ensure her child had the healthiest upbringing possible.
"When all our plans fell apart and the serene, natural childbirth we had envisioned ended with a transfer to the hospital and an emergency C-section, we arrived home exhausted, disillusioned, and totally in shock. I was obsessed with everything organic, toxin-free, natural, and homeopathic for our kid, who came into this world in an operating room through an incision. I was a dictator, making myself and my husband insane!"
Currently Justin, Jessica, and Silas are on Justin's Man of the Woods tour, with Timberlake posting an adorable pic of the family hanging out at the airport.
