Nick Jr. is launching a Blue's Clues reboot, introducing a new generation to the cult series with some help from two previous hosts-- Steve Burns and Donovan Patton.

Burns and Patton make a special appearance in the series premiere of Blue’s Clues & You! to welcome new host Joshua Dela Cruz (aka “Josh”) into the fold. Blue's Clues fans will recall that Steve served as the original Blue’s Clues host when it premiered back in 1996, until the character left for college in 2002 at the end of Season 4. Steve was then replaced by Joe, who stayed with the show until its final episode in 2006.

Premiering on Monday, Nov. 11 at 9 am, Blue’s Clues & You! welcomes back all of the franchise’s original characters — Tickety Tock, Slippery Soap, Shovel, Pail, Mr. Salt, Mrs. Pepper, Cinnamon, Paprika, Felt Friends, Sidetable Drawer and Mailbox, plus the original Thinking Chair — and introduces a few new faces, including Mr. Salt and Mrs. Peppers twins Sage and Ginger.

The reboot also features an updated version of the iconic Handy Dandy Notebook, now “equipped with a new blue crayon and smartphone technology, allowing Josh and Blue to receive emails and video calls.” In the clip from the first episode of the new show Blues Clues and You!, new host Josh is trying to figure out what Blue wants for breakfast. He can’t understand his doggy pal, so he uses his legendary handy-dandy notebook. He calls up his cousins, who are none other than Joe and Steve.

After Steve and Joe consult with Blue, they decide that what Josh needs to do is play Blue’s Clues. Josh’s call gives us a glimpse into what Joe and Steve are doing with their lives post-Blues Clues-- Joe now works at a present store, while Steve runs his own detective agency, following through on their dreams.

As for new host Joshua Dela Cruz, he is a seasoned Broadway star, having appeared on stage in Disney’s Aladdin, David Byrne’s Here Lies Love and Encores!: Merrily We Roll Along, and has also been on TV in CBS’ Bull and ABC’s Time After Time. Blue’s Clues & You! is Josh's first starring role on television.
