Actor, Josh Hartnett, recently revealed that him and his long-time girlfriend, Tamsin Egerton, secretly welcomed a child together in 2019. This was the third child the couple have welcomed together.
Fans may remember Josh Hartnett as a teen heartthrob back in the '90s, but he got that title from being a successful actor. He has been in movies such as Pearl Harbor, The Virgin Suicides, just to name a few. For the past five years, Josh has been focusing on being a father and a good partner to his long-time girlfriend. Now Josh is opening up about his journey into fatherhood.
During an interview with Mr. Porter, the 42-year-old admitted that becoming a father is one of his proudest accomplishments. "The thing I am most proud of is that I’m a father of three and I have a good relationship with my partner and a great family life,” he told the online retail store on Thursday, reported Us Weekly. “I’m still able to do good work and, as I’ve got older, the characters have become more interesting.”
The actor began dating his partner Tamsin, who is also an actress, back in 2012. After three years together, the couple welcomed their first child together, a daughter. Two years went by and the pair welcomed a second child in August 2017. Neither of their names have been publicly reported. Their third child was welcomed sometime in late 2019, without the news getting out into the public until now.
During a 2015 interview with Good Morning Britain, the father of three revealed how becoming a father for the first time to his daughter completely changed his life. He opened up about really living for a purpose for the first time in his life, noting how everything that happened before his child was just the beginning of the start of a greater life.
The following year, the celebrity father spoke with morning show host, Kelly Ripa, about fatherhood as well. "Your ego melts away when you have a new kid. Your heart kind of leaves your body and you give it permission to walk around with someone else for a while. It’s really terrifying but it’s beautiful," he said in the interview. He added how much he loves being a father, but sometimes wishes he had done it sooner. Overall, he is happy with the outcome as he gets to raise his little girl. Josh was later lucky enough to become a father to two more children since those interviews.
Josh is definitely happy to have chosen his family over life in Hollywood. If he was still living his life in Hollywood, he certainly would not have been able to keep the birth of his third child a secret.
