Joy-Anna Duggar Shares Heartbreaking Photos Following Miscarriage With Stillborn Baby

Following the news of a heartbreaking miscarriage on July 3rd, Joy-Anna Duggar and her husband Austin Forsyth shared a set of beautiful photos cradling their stillborn daughter, Annabell Elise.

Choosing to wait until after the first trimester to announce their pregnancy, Duggar and Forsyth informed fans that they were expecting their second baby in May of 2019. It was less than a month after the pregnancy news broke that the family shared via Instagram, on July 3rd, that Joy-Anna had suffered a miscarriage a week prior. They had received the devastating news that their baby girl had no heartbeat.

Being a very religious family, the couple shared that their faith would be their guide as they navigated the difficult journey of child loss. Their baby girl's name, Annabell, means "God has favored me” and her second name, Elise, means “God satisfies”.

Most recently, photos were posted on the family's joint Instagram account showing the two parents holding their baby girl. Joy-Anna captioned the photo thanking God for the time that they were actually able to spend with their daughter. The photos feature Joy-Anna and Austin cradling their daughter, while she is wrapped in a tiny pink blanket, wearing a crocheted bonnet and laid beside a tiny teddy bear. The couple is staring at their daughter, and the caption thanks fans and followers for their love and support.

Child loss is an incredibly difficult subject to discuss and share, but Joy-Anna and Austin's photos show that there can be light in such a dark time. They chose to cherish the time that they were given with their baby girl and give her all of the love that they possibly could before saying goodbye. While it may not be the most traditional way to remember a lost child, a hospital photo shoot can help to provide closure for grieving parents and create lasting memories of a child's short life.

We are sending all of our love for this little family during this difficult time.
