It has been quite the year so far for Canadian megastar Justin Bieber, and it's not over yet. After announcing his engagement to model Hailey Baldwin this July, Bieber recently revealed another major family milestone: the birth of a brand new baby sister.
Bieber took to Instagram this past Thursday to share the news of the little girl's arrival that very morning, snapping an adorable close-up of her sleeping face.
"Meet the newest Bieber, my little sister BAY BIEBER," the proud big brother captioned. The photo has since garnered over 7 million likes and congratulations from friends and fans from all over the world. Bieber's father, Jeremy, also took to the social media platform that afternoon, sharing an intimate photo of mom, dad and newborn Bay in the delivery room, moments after the birth.
"We welcomed a healthy baby 'Bay Bieber' born at 830 am," the post read, which has since reached almost 400,000 likes.
Already a dad to Jazmyn and Jaxon (with second wife Erin Wagner), and of course Justin (with first wife Pattie Mallette), Bay is the senior Bieber's fourth child with his wife of six months, 29-year-old Chelsey. The couple were married earlier this past February in an intimate hillside wedding in Jamaica, around the same time they announced they were expecting. Chelsey has an 11-year old daughter from a previous relationship.
Surprisingly, the younger Bieber - and groomsman standing next to dad Jeremy on his big day - was not accompanied by Baldwin during the Montego Bay nuptials earlier this year. He was actually spotted with wedding date, and now-ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez - and the couple appeared to be quite close. In fact, fans were buzzing as Bieber and Gomez were photographed hugging and kissing one another, which led everyone to believe that their on-again-off-again romance was very much back on.
But sadly, it was not to be. By March, sources were quoted as saying they were "taking a breather", and their eight-year saga seemed to finally be at a close when they were spotted attending the same church service, but not sitting together as they had so often in the past. And while Baldwin and Bieber's engagement only four months later may have seemed sudden, the latter pair have actually known each other for the better part of a decade and have remained close friends - even after briefly dating and breaking up back in 2016.
A 2019 wedding date is rumoured to be set, but the star and his soon-to-be-wife remain mum on details.
