Someone asked her if she was afraid that she was not going to bond with the baby because she had used a surrogate. Kandi, who is known for her time on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, stated that she can’t even think about it because it really hurt her feelings.

Kandi did say that she doesn’t believe the person was trying to hurt her feelings, and she explained that she was an older person who may still be caught in the initial thinking that you can’t have the same bond with a baby that you don’t physically carry in your womb for 9 months. Kandi did say that if anyone else thinks this way, then she can tell them that this is definitely not true. This is likely a comment that is floating around the minds of women who have to use a surrogate, and Kandi’s experience may bring them some peace of mind.

It is stories like Kandi’s that can inspire women who are struggling with fertility and have to go the path of a surrogate. When celebrities use their platform to share their experiences, and their struggles, it can help others to feel not so alone and remind them that their feelings and experiences are normal and valid. Kandi welcomed her last child, Blaze, with a surrogate in November 2019. A bond with a baby comes from various ways, and as long as you have love in your heart for that baby, it will be there.
